Cybershot DSC-F828

On the other hand, the F828 stands out in terms of image sharpness. The camera's 8-x-10-inch prints looked sharper than any of those produced by competing advanced cameras. The camera's 8-megapixel CCD obviously plays a part, with some help from the...

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-F828

This is one heck of a camera " but it comes at one heck of a price. A year ago, it might have swept all before it, but now the Sony faces being undercut by real digital SLRs, with better viewfinders, faster auto-focus and greater versatility.

Sony Cyber Shot Pro review:

Review summary Part of the first generation of 7-megapixel digital cameras, Sony's DSC-V3 boasts a 4X Carl Zeiss zoom lens, a big 2.5-inch LCD, plenty of advanced features, and fairly sprightly performance. Though its image quality isn't absolutely top...

Unusually solid high-ISO performance for a non-dSLR; big 2.5-inch LCD; quick overall performance; relatively light and compact.

Low-ISO photos show some JPEG and edge artifacts; poor raw-format shot-to-shot time; subpar optical viewfinder.

This Sony offers good features and performance in a compact camera for enthusiasts, but its low-ISO image quality doesn't quite match the best in its class.
