Sony DSC W220

This is a fairly standard, mid priced, smaller compact. It is easy to use and recorded one of the faster shutter delay times. Picture quality does not quite match up to the best in this class.

Ease of use - shutter delay times - High Definition movie clips

Macro shots show purple fringing - overall picture quality could be a shade better

The Sony Cybershot DSC W220 is not a bad digital camera. I found the camera easy to use and it has a low shutter lag time compared to other cameras in its class. When it comes to picture quality it has some tough competition and does not quite match up...

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W220 review

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W220 subtly makes you give up features to get below the crucial $200 price point. For example, the W220's linemate, the W290 , has a longer, wider lens, larger LCD, HD movie capture, and a few other extras pushing its street...

Above-average feature set; nice design.

No optical zoom while recording video; photo quality drops off above ISO 200; above-average chromatic aberration.

Sony's careful feature trimming results in the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W220: a well-rounded pocket camera for less than $180.
