The mid-generation Asus ROG Ally X comes closer than any other to delivering the ultimate handheld console experience.
Impressive battery life ; Great performance, especially in Turbo mode ; Small, but significant, improvements to overall design
Still an IPS LCD display ; No trackpad
The Asus ROG Ally X not only fixes big complaints with the original Ally, but propels it to the top of the handheld gaming console pack with a serious boost to battery life, plenty of storage and RAM and top-end performance.

Asus' new gaming handheld is certainly powerful
Powerful ; Improved battery life ; Solid design
Very expensive ; Can't compete with gaming laptops of the same price ; Windows 11 continues to hobble handhelds
The Asus ROG Ally X is one of the most powerful gaming handhelds yet, and puts the Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch to shame performance-wise. However, you're paying for this extra firepower with a hefty price tag, and Windows 11 remains frustrating to...

As far as protecting your ROG Ally X goes, dbrand's Killswitch case is by far the best out there.
As far as ROG Ally X cases go, dbrand's Killswitch can't be beat. It offers a ton of protection alongside a travel cover, kickstand, and front skin.

As long as the game you're playing supports the feature, FSR feels like the ultimate cheat code.

It's not quite an Ally 2 - but the Asus ROG Ally X is the next best thing, with significant internal and ergonomic upgrades
A powerful gaming machine with quiet, effective cooling ; Considerably better battery life than the original Ally ; Ergonomics a welcome improvement
Windows still a weak link ; Still no OLED screen
A mid-life update that addresses pretty much every major complaint about the original. The Asus ROG Ally X still isn’t the perfect gaming handheld, but it’s the best that runs Windows.

An improvement over the original in almost every way.
24GB of RAM improves performance ; Higher power profiles than original ROG Ally ; Bright, colorful display ; Better build quality and comfort than original ; Longer battery life than its predecessor
$799 is pricey for a gaming handheld ; Windows 11 isn't built for this ; Armoury Crate still has a few bugs
The Asus ROG Ally X is the best Windows gaming handheld out there right now, with a big battery, solid ergonomics, and lots of RAM to help boost performance. But Windows still isn't perfect, and $799.99 is a lot to ask, especially when the Steam Deck...

The S$1,199 ROG Ally X costs more than before but more memory, storage, and battery, and better overall ergonomics make up for the premium.
Expert review by : Jacob Roach (digitaltrends.com)
The ROG Ally X is a massive improvement over the original, even if its price tag is a bit hard to swallow given the competition.
Small performance boosts in some games ; Redesigned Armoury Crate software ; Much more comfortable ; Longer battery life
MicroSD card concerns ; Windows quirks remain
“The Asus ROG Ally X improves on nearly every aspect of the original.”
