KEF M200

The M200s are a fine first effort that excel in some areas – but they don't quite make class-leader status

Ridiculously powerful, authoritative bass ; Detailed, smooth and open sound ; Sturdy and lightweight build

Bass could be overpowering for some ; Lack the zip and pace of the class-leaders ; Bulky appearance ; Fitting process takes time

There’s such a wealth of good earphones around this price, so it’s credit to the KEF M200s that they hold their own – even if they don’t quite set the market alight. If you like the design, definitely give them an audition.

KEF M200 in-ear headphones: Iffy fit, but very impressive sound

If you can get a tight seal -- and that's a big if -- the British speaker company's new $200 in-ear headphones deliver very clean, well-balanced sound.

Because the housing is so large, some people will have trouble getting a tight seal and comfortable fit with the included eartips. Not getting a tight seal will seriously impact sound quality.

The KEF M200s sound excellent, with clean, accurate sound, but they just won't fit some ears.

KEF M200 in-ear headphones review

In case you've never heard of KEF, it's a British company that makes premium speakers that generally sound really good. Those speakers tend to be a bit pricey -- and some are very pricey -- but now the company has made a foray into the headphone market...

KEF M500 Headphones and M200 Earphones Preview

The KEF M500's are over-the-ear headphones that are made with durable, light-weight aluminum frames. The equally impressive-looking in-ear M200s use what KEF describes as its DDD (Dual Dynamic Driver)

Review: KEF M200 in-earphones

If there's one thing KEF understands, it's audio, with the company producing some of the best speakers we've ever heard. Unfortunately, we can't carry big speakers everywhere we go, so KEF has had to compromise and produce something far, far smaller.

Aluminium build is solid and good looking; Some of the most detailed and balanced sound we’ve heard in a pair of in-ears ever; Includes a remote, though it only works properly on iOS devices;

One of the most uncomfortable pairs of earphones we’ve ever inserted in our ears; Cable is a little too thin;

Great sounding IEMs with some tweaking

I had to write a review to counter Kevin G.'s review. These are really good IEMs when used correctly. You pretty much have to use Comply tips to make these things work. The silicone tips won't stay in my ears and there's a bunch of driver flex when...

Great bass and treble extension. Nice wide soundstage with good imaging when using a good source. Great build quality.

Poor fit for my ears with included silicone tips. Driver flex with included silicone tips. Comply tips (which are included with later versions) work great at fixing both the fit and driver flex issues. They are pretty mandatory for me to get a decent...

Don't Do It

I got interested in HI-FI audio from borrowing a pair of beats headphones. I was so impressed that I bought my own, but later found that I needed something low profile. I saw these on sale and spent hours reading and watching reviews before deciding to...

I cant think of any

Heavy and uncomfortable on the ear. They kept falling out even though I adjusted them and used the smallest nibs. The volume wasn't very high and I only experienced bass when I jammed them deep into my ear canal
