Sony XBA-3 in-ear headphones

Sony's new headphones are a surprise

Good bass response ; Clear treble ; Well built

Slightly lacking detail ; Bulky design ; J-cord design

Sony's high-end in-ear headphones are a surprising package. These headphones sound impressively musical, but could be slightly more detailed in higher frequencies. They're well constructed apart from an annoying cord design.

Sony XBA-3

Meet the XBA-3, the higher-end offering in Sony's new line of balanced armature in-ear headphones. While these headphones offer good frequency response, they have a few hangups that may give some buyers pause. Still, the Sony XBA-3s have a few...

Decent frequency response ; Huge number of additional sleeves, good cable management

High THD power sum ; High price

Decent headphones, but a bit pricy and low on features.

The final words for Sony XBA-3 are that these headphones are really amazing and incorporate detailed higher frequencies. Moreover the quality gives a strong competition to already established leaders of markets like Shure and Etymotics. These earphones...

Sony XBA-3

The Sony XBA-3s have a mixed bag of performance points, but offer an interesting experience.

Decent frequency response; Huge number of additional sleeves, good cable management

High THD power sum; High price

This year, Sony introduced the XBA line of in-ear headphones, with their balanced armature driver technology. Among the higher end models is the XBA-3 ($279 MSRP), the triple-driver in-ear offering from Sony to satisfy audiophiles on the go. While...

Sony XBA-3 Earphones (Playback 53)

Sony has always liked the letter X. Who can forget Sony's X-plod car amplifiers and the unfortunate connotations of X-plod when applied to automotive audio? Undaunted, Sony has introduced eleven new models of XBA headphones. XBA stands for “Experience...

Very well executed

There are as many opinions as people on this planet. So, I will speak for myself. I can not call myself audiophile but I do have many hobbies and building custom DAC, headphone amplifiers, speakers, modding headphones are part of my list. I was looking...

Sound quality. Packaging. Case is nice option

Worst buy I've made in years

It took me a long time to get some money to buy some good headphones. I found the sony Xba-3 in a Portuguese site for € 205. When I opened the box, the first thing I noticed was the build quality.

Very good separation between mids and highs if you didn't turn up the volume too much

Not balanced sound; The mids and treble mix when increasing the volume

SONY XBA-3

I recommended wearing the cord over ears. Sounds are less compression this way.

The highs reveal a lot of details and music instruments become alive. I can hear a lot things in musics I ever heard before. The mid and low are well balance and natural. I can hear every word from singer or group of singers. Soundstage is large and...

If the mid give just a tiny bit more details, It would be perfect ten

A great headphone.

Purchased the made in japan xba-3ip during winter clearance jun '12. My first impressions was an attractive futuristic headphone. Upon listening to a few tracks the clarity and rich bass sound is awesome. The xba-3ip picks up great instrumental sound...

Appearance and functionality.

Pricey, but worth it.
