Run away from this one.

 

I purchased a house with the brand new microwave, (Dec, 2007), and primarily used it for popcorn and reheating the occasional plate. This was used literally maybe 2 - 4 times a week for less than 3 minutes at a time. Last week, I heard a strange...

It is a space saver, the stainless looks nice and was easy to clean.

Appliances catching on fire is not normal, customer relations not forthcoming with solutions.

My GE JVM1653 cooktop microwave is just over 2 years old now and it shuts off after the 3 seconds of starting and asks me to re-enter the date and time. You re-enter the date and time and start the microwave again and it does it again. So basically I ...

Good Oven, poor reliability

 

Nice button functions, good construction - fit and finish, cooks evenly, great features on keypad.

Reliability is awful - less than 2 years. Same failure mode as last GE Oven.

Less than two years old and on the fritz

 

Good performer until now. One-touch controls, esp. minutes, 30-sec., and popcorn.

On the fritz with known issue that GE seems generally reluctant to fix.
