How much phone can you get for £200?
Impressive screen ; Great value ; Looks belie price
Average battery life ; Only 4GB onboard storage ; Flimsy SIM/microSD flaps
The One Touch Idol comes with 4GB of internal storage, enough to keep your most important apps on. This can be expanded to a much healthier 36GB with a 32GB microSD card, enough for most people to store all the music, apps and even video they want to...

A mid-price, high spec smartphone
Super slim design ; Decent camera ; Good HD display ; Snappy processor
No expandable storage ; No 4G or NFC ; No update from Android 4.2 ; Lack of app draw
The Idol X gives a surprisingly strong showing from a firm not known for its high-end smartphones. While it doesn't match the high flying Samsung, LG and HTC handsets, this is a solid Android smartphone.

It's the world's slimmest smartphone
Super slim ; Nice design ; Pretty quick
Overlay isn't great ; Poor camera ; No microSD slot ; No headphone jack
The Alcatel One Touch Idol Ultra is a capable mid to high end device offering you a decent smartphone experience. It'll stand or fall on the price: if Alcatel is looking to match the likes of the Galaxy S3 and HTC One X+, it'll run into difficulties....

Alcatel's $300 contract-free One Touch Idol has its charms, but you'll get far more for your money with the LG Nexus 4, including 4G HSPA+ speeds.
Alcatel's unlocked ; has a large display, a slim profile, an 8-megapixel camera with HD video capture, and strong call quality.
The Idol won't deliver faster than 3G service. The entry-level device lacks NFC and has little internal storage.
With low-end specs and no 4G speeds, Alcatel's One Touch Idol can't compete with the LG Nexus 4.

Only the sedate performance level lets it down, yet for the target market the benefits by far outweigh the negatives.

The unlocked Alcatel One Touch Idol 3 is an exceptional Android smartphone value that more than lives up to its lofty spec sheet.

Alcatel may not be a phone maker that rings a bell with you, but it's a fairly prolific enterprise that's inching its way into the U.S. market with phones like Cricket's Alcatel Authority and the better Alcatel One Touch Idol , an entry-level Android...

The unlocked Alcatel One Touch Idol smartphone is light and attractive, but that's not enough to make up for dated hardware and lackluster performance.

Best in class thanks to accessories? TThe One Touch Idol 4S is the new flagship smartphone from Alcatel and is shipped with many accessories. However, a closer look reveals some drawbacks.
great chassis ; very bright AMOLED screen ; good speakers ; comprehensive accessories (VR googles) ; 4K video recording
only micro-USB 2.0 ; slow WLAN ; comparatively low performance ; gets quite warm ; hybrid slot (dual-SIM or microSD) ; mediocre voice quality ; no fingerprint scanner
Can the Alcatel One Touch Idol 4S compete with the rivals? Not quite. The smartphone can actually justify its price with the stylish chassis, the good display, and the comprehensive accessories, but the competitors have fewer drawbacks. The Idol 4S...

Large, colorful and extravagant. The One Touch Idol X is Alcatel's bid on the international smartphone market. The slim model boasts a 5-inch display which offers bright colors. Is that enough to be ranked amongst the high-end smartphones? Let us find...
