Huawei P9

Huawei P9 long-term review: Huawei's 2016 flagship was its best phone to date with Dual Leica cameras and an improved software experience.

Dual lens tech is great ; Solid performance ; Decent battery life ; Super fast fingerprint scanner

EMUI skin is heavy ; Camera software can be fidlly

The best phone Huawei’s ever made, but it repeats old mistakes.

Huawei P9 review: a solid smartphone - but it won't change the way you see the world

UPDATED. A sleek handset with two, yes TWO, Leica cameras

Sleek design ; Interesting camera set up ; Good battery life

Nothing innovative ; Screen lackluster ; Camera could be better

Huawei P9 review: The flagship and the folly

Huawei has been chipping away at the flagship smartphone block for years now, gradually adding appeal to its seemingly desired western audience with each iteration. But while last year's P8 lost its way with sloppy software and knuckle-based nonsense,...

Best fingerprint scanner on the market, slender design, dual camera solution is fun, microSD card expansion, ample power for all tasks

Some questionable software points, battery life not standout (as 3,000mAh would suggest), camera software (defocus) glitchy

The P9 is a step above and beyond last year's P8. It's got cleaner software, ample power, decent (albeit sometimes quirky) cameras, the best fingerprint scanner on the market, and a variety of features that successfully place it in among the flagship...

Huawei P9 review

A flagship phone that's consistently different but too inconsistent to challenge the best

High-quality build ; Much improved DoF camera effects ; Bright, colourful screen

Disappointing low-light camera performance ; Software messes with Android a lot

An innovative camera, plenty of power and lovely build aren't quite enough to add up to overall perfection

Huawei P9 review

Dual cameras worthy of a double take

Gorgeous design ; Powerful processor ; Good camera setup

Questionable interface ; Average battery life ; Lacks fast charging

The P9 is another accomplished smartphone from Huawei, with an innovative camera setup and plenty of power under the hood. But it's not perfect, and there are still issues with the heavy Emotion UI.

Huawei P9 review: A great camera is the best thing about the Huawei P9

The great camera and slim design are in the Huawei P9's favour, but not the clunky Android software.

The dual-lens camera takes great photos, particularly in black and white, and the phone's slim design makes it easy to carry around.

Huawei's Android skin is awkward to use and loaded with bloatware. The screen resolution should be higher, given the price.

It might take fancy photos, but the Huawei P9's high price means it's not a good choice over the similarly priced Samsung Galaxy S7.

Huawei P9 Review: In Depth

Huawei P9 review: If it wasn't clear from the launch event, the new Huawei P9 is squarely aimed at the big dogs of the phone market. But is it any good?

Beautifully thin, lightweight design ; Rich camera experience ; Great battery life

Heavy user interface ; No 4K video recording

Huawei is growing up fast and the P9 represents the best that the company can bring to the table right now. It’s not a perfect phone, taken in some very specific directions in certain areas, but the end result is pleasing to look at and pleasing to use..

Huawei P9 hands-on review

Huawei has unveiled its latest Android flagship. We've spent some time with the phone, and here's our initial hands-on review of the Huawei P9.

Based on our first impressions of the Huawei P9, we're pretty impressed. It's a leap forward from the P8 which was already a decent smartphone, particularly due to its innovative camera and USB-C conector. We still need to thoroughly test the camera...

Huawei P9 review: Once the camera smartphone to beat

The Huawei P9's Leica dual-lens camera is its crowning achievement, but the P9 isn't without its flaws

Dual-lens camera ; Lightning fast fingerprint reader

Huawei Emotion UI

It is, however, much cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5, which might be preferable for those with more limited budgets. In my book, I'd probably prefer to pay a bit more for a better all-rounder, but if you're looking for a great camera...

Huawei P9 and P9 Plus review: Once great, but in 2018 you can do better

The Huawei P9 and Huawei P9 Plus are good enough to take on the best of the flagship competition – the big names should be worried

The P9 costs £449 SIM free and the P9 Plus is £549 inc VAT, which is very reasonable for this calibre of phone. However, you can pick it up for much less if you shop around and buy it in tandem with a PAYG or monthly SIM deal. For instance, pick up a...
