LG Esteem (MetroPCS) review

MetroPCS will forever hold the distinction of being the first to offer the U.S. an LTE market and phone 11 months ago, but it's also been the slowest in developing a 4G portfolio. The LG Esteem represents the carrier's second LTE smartphone since...

The LG Esteem runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, taps into MetroPCS' 4G LTE network, and has an impressive pair of front-and-rear-facing cameras.

Bulky and heavy, the LG Esteem's worst offense is its poor battery life. Its slow data speeds keep it from working well outside of MetroPCS' 4G LTE territory.

Specs-wise, the LG Esteem is MetroPCS' fastest and most advanced phone, but its dismal battery life is a terrible disservice.

LG Esteem (MetroPCS)

Those speeds sound even better when coupled with an inexpensive plan. For $60 per month, you can get unlimited talk, text, and data, along with unlimited music from Rhapsody and video on demand from MetroStudio. The $50 plan will get you unlimited talk...

Runs Android 2.3.4. Sharp, bright display. Inexpensive monthly plans

Big and bulky. Pricey. 4G speeds aren’t really 4G

The LG Esteem is the best smartphone available for MetroPCS right now.

Buying an LG PHONE WAS THE WORST IDEA POSSIBLE!

None, this phone was working just fine when I first bought it but after 3 months, it started malfunctioning. It is not so much the phone company that is the issue, it is LG ELECTRONICS! They will not help you once your phone stops working.

Front camera has poor quality, back camera takes a while to load, battery life is poor, it will die soon.Freezes constantly, has no service, it will shut off all of the sudden.Unless you're connected to wifi 24/7 this phone will not work fast for you

"Way better than my old Evo 4g, or the Iphone 4s."

Besides the Galaxy S3 This is in my opinion the best phone out for metro. Heck it's better than any Ihpone just by tech specs, add the customizations that come with Android themes and launchers. You will love this phone once it's rooted and de-bloated....

Cpu is Powerful. De-tuned stock, but once rooted and clocked at 2.1Ghz it's blazing fast. mine performs best at 1.7ghz.

stock it's full of bloatware from metro pcs and LG. it sucks the battery really bad, mostly due to the large screen and FB/social apps. as with all androids using icons and wigets on the homescreen consumes more battery. wifi uses less power than 4g

An overall excellent phone!

This is an excellent cell phone. It comes with android 2.3 (gingerbread) which is a nice OS even if it is not the latest version. The screen is big and clear calls sound great in your ear or on speaker phone. There is very little lag when using this...

Big bright screen, great sound, dual cameras, looks good

"Love everything except the battery..."

I purchased the extended battery for my metro esteem because I would charge it all nite and it would die in 5 hours, even wen I just let it sit and didnt use it. The extended battery does add time to my phone battery life, but only a couple hrs. I read...

love playing my music on it and love the apps. The camera is excellent!

battery only lasts 6 hours if I dont use it
