The second-gen Razr comes with more battery, more brains, more connectivity. It's expensive, though, so is it worth flipping out over this clamshell?

Second display's enhanced functionality ; Smooth software experience ; Battery life is surprisingly good ; Iconic design that'll turn heads

Undeniably expensive ; POLED screen is reflective ; Screen not perfectly flat ; Fingerprint scanner still poorly placed ; Do you really need a folding phone?

The 2020 Razr might not be a device with mainstream appeal like the original from 15 years ago - plus the incoming glut of folding phone competitors is going to further challenge it - but nonetheless it's an exciting piece of technology that stands out...

Having had the Motorola V8 in our mitts for 30 seconds we say.... this is a sharp looking dapper but is it leaps and bounds ahead of its predecessors ?

Motorola has managed to make its RAZR handsets even easier on the eye and the built-in music player is of a high standard. The marathon battery life also deserves a mention

Ultimately, with its lack of 3G and only a two-megapixel camera, the RAZR 2 V8 falls into the mid range of the market. As the saying goes, looks aren't everything

Motorola Razr (2020) review: 5G folding flip phone feels fine

 

The hinge doesn't creak anymore, at least.

It’s a cool flip phone ; Useful outside display

Expensive ; Inconsistent camera ; Odd fingerprint placement ; Not fully water or dust resistant

Motorola has fixed all the problems from the original Razr. It’s still a very cool folding flip phone, but the camera is mediocre and the price is way too much at $1,399.
