Pantech Jest (Verizon Wireless)

The Pantech Jest is one of the worst phones we've tested recently on Verizon; only its compact design and usable QWERTY keyboard save it from oblivion.

Compact and sturdy. Solid battery life. Social Beat app aggregates social networks, RSS feeds, and Gmail.

Terrible touchpad. Poor camera. Clumsy music transfers. Buggy stereo Bluetooth. Non-standard headphone jack.

Apps, Multimedia, and Conclusions The bundled software compliment was pretty decent. Opera Mini served up sharp Web pages, although the 1X radio meant desktop HTML pages were out. VZ Navigator is on board for voice-enabled, turn-by-turn directions at...

Pantech Jest - blue (Verizon Wireless) review

Small square-shaped messaging phones have been a trend for a while now, and Pantech is one of the few handset makers to embrace the design early on with phones like the Reveal and the Pursuit . The latest to join the family is the Pantech Jest, a...

The Pantech Jest has a compact pocket-friendly design with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. It has a shortcut taskbar, a great display, a 2.0-megapixel camera, a music player, stereo Bluetooth, and social-networking features. It's free with a contract.

The Pantech Jest's optical directional pad is not that responsive and can be annoying to use, and there's no other way to navigate the phone.

The Pantech Jest is a decent messaging phone for the young social-networking enthusiast, but the optical pad might be a nuisance.

Pantech Jest Review

The new Pantech Jest TXT8040 from Verizon Wireless follows in the line of the preceding Razzle TXT8030 and Blitz TXT8010 models, as it is a messaging phone with a full QWERTY keyboard. But since this concept has been around for years now, does the...

Review: Pantech Jest

The Pantech Jest is a cute messaging phone for Verizon Wireless that skips the expensive data options but still offers messaging and social skills.

Pantech Jest Review by Sydney

The Good: Interesting features like the optical navigation key and two capacitive selection buttons that you don't really see on featurephones; great physical QWERTY keyboard; Social Beat for access to social networks and Gmail.

Interesting features like the optical navigation key and two capacitive selection buttons that you don't really see on featurephones; great physical QWERTY keyboard; Social Beat for access to social networks and Gmail

2.5 mm headphone jack; strange placement of shortcut buttons may take some getting used to; optical navigation key isn't perfect

The Pantech Jest is a great mid-range messaging device that performs well and offers plenty of additional features for those who want a little more out of their phone.

Pantech Jest

I like the Pantech Jest because it fits my lifestyle and it is easy to use. It has a huge front screen and fits nicely into my hand. It also has great reception, which I found in most other cell phones to be lacking in. I love the scroll button and I...

chunky but decent

The Jest is a decent feature phone. I do have a few complaints with it though. First, I don't know what they were thinking when they designed optical directional pad. It can be difficult to use and I have also found it unresponsive. This may not matter...
