Samsung Tocco F480

Samsung's best touchscreen phone to date, but is it all good?

The front screen measures 2.8 inches diagonally, putting it on a par with the screens of the more portable Windows Mobile devices. It delivers 320 x 240 pixels and 262 thousand colours. I found it clear and sharp to read and easy to use.

Samsung Tocco SGH-F480 review

Our review of Samsung's latest touchscreen phone

Stylish compact design ; Responsive touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera ; HSDPA ; Drag and drop 'widgets' ; Good quality music player ; Decent earphones supplied

Touchscreen control not always slick ; No virtual Qwerty keyboard text input, Wi-Fi, camera flash limited ; No support for adding extra widgets ; No smartphone OS feature customisation

Good looking phone with a decent camera, though the touchscreen still has a way to go

The Tocco isn’t broken it just doesn’t have the same level of refinement inside as it does on the outside. This is an attractive phone capable of handling many people’s needs. Our only concern is that if you’re looking for a smart phone then this isn’t it.

Samsung F480 Tocco

With sultry looks and a five-megapixel camera, the Samsung Tocco is less bulky than the range of camera phones that came immediately before it, proving that you can have a phone with style, snapping prowess and about a billion other features as well.

Lithe styling, customisable widgets and good camer

What happened to the Wi-Fi? And that touchscreen is annoying

The Samsung Tocco looks like a super model handset, unfortunately it's let down at the last minute by a severe case of the twitchy touchscreens.

The Tocco laughs at the iPhone 3G's puny camera, then shies away with its tail between its legs when the iPhone laughs at its clumsy touch controls. Samsung F480 Tocco is tagged with mobile phone, HSDPA, 3G, Samsung and touch screen. Select a tag...

Samsung F480

The Samsung F480 is very similar in appearance to the iPhone and it is entirely devoid of buttons, except for the dial and menu buttons. Wide and Shallow UI formation makes it easy to access phone contents without navigating through endless menu...

The shortcut menu and 5 megapixel camera with LED flash are excellent.

The screen tends to respond a bit slowly to touch and scrolling and text input is not what it could have been.
