The Samsung Galaxy A90 5G is a relatively affordable way to get 5G, but some serious photographic corners have been cut.

Not good for night photography Poor wide camera for the money No zoom

The Samsung Galaxy A90 5G is one of the most affordable 5G phones. It also has a decent amount of power, but its camera is enormously disappointing for the price, so only buy this if you value 5G over photography.

A doorway to 5G, without scrimping on key specs. Samsung's sub-flagship is its answer to the mass of Chinese affordable phones. But is it any good?

Flagship spec includes 5G connectivity for a (relatively) affordable price ; Large AMOLED screen keeps bezel to a minimal ; Capable main 48MP camera (delivers 12MP by default) ; All-day battery

Feels a bit plasticky (even though it isn't) ; Do you really need hard-to-come-by 5G yet? ; Not the best low-light or wide-angle snaps ; Battery could last longer ; Some jaggies in certain content

Want 5G but don't want to pay for the priciest of flagships? The A90 delivers top connectivity and flagship specs that are knocking on the door of affordable.

Can 5G connectivity make up for disappointing camera performance?

It has 5G ; Big, bold screen ; Plenty of power

Fingerprint scanner kinda sucks ; Cameras are a way off the £650-plus standard ; You may be disappointed by 5G right now ; No headphone port

This is one of the most affordable ways to get hooked up with 5G, but you pay for it in a few important areas
