Samsung Galaxy J1 Review

 

The Samsung Galaxy J1 is compact, super affordable and does the basics well, but the hardware and software could both be better

+ Very cheap ; + Solid design ; + Decent battery life

- Lacking power ; - Only 4GB of built in storage ; - Older Android version

The Samsung Galaxy J1’s main selling point is its price. At around £80 SIM-free, even less on pay as you and for nothing upfront on very low cost contracts it’s cheaper than a smartphone has any right to be.

Expensive entry. Samsung launches a 2016 update of its entry-level device Galaxy J1, but the price was increased. Samsung is once again not very generous in terms of features. Can the smartphone justify the additional price, or should you have a look...

sturdy and compact chassis ; good SAMOLED screen ; replaceable battery ; SD reader ; long battery runtimes ; LTE & NFC

low performance in general ; sometimes sluggish handling ; no ambient light sensor ; Android buttons not illuminated ; low display resolution ; cameras were not improved ; only Android 5.1.1 ; no 5 GHz WLAN

The Samsung Galaxy J1 model year 2016 left a somewhat mixed impression in our review. Samsung improved the entry-level device at some points. This clearly includes the SAMOLED screen, which can convince in all areas except for the low resolution....

" My phone got destroyed after a drink spilled so I went to buy a new phone yesterday. I just bought this and so far Im liking it alot. I have more options on this than i did my old phone for the same price. Still aot to learn and get used to but....
