Samsung Instinct s30 SPH-M810 (Sprint)

With more features and a lower price than the original Instinct, the updated s30 version is a solid handset choice for Sprint.

Responsive touch panel. Good camera and video recorder. Plenty of mobile media features, all of which are included in Sprint's Everything plan.

Low-res screen. No Wi-Fi. Reception could be stronger. Some clumsy interface elements.

Instinct S30

Phone fans had been hoping that Sprint's next-gen version of the Samsung Instinct smartphone would drop weight and beef up on specs. Then, at CTIA 2009, the Instinct S30 ($130 after rebates, with a two-year contract) premiered. Let's just say that the...

Slimmer profile, smooth lines feel great in hand 32GB of internal memory

Still no Wi-Fi Weak camera capabilities

Samsung has done a solid job on both the original Instinct and the S30; either way, you have to admire the extensive feature list and sharp design you get for the price. But Wi-Fi support, better camera specs, and a snazzier user interface all seem...

Samsung Instinct S30 Phone Review

Slimmer profile feels great in hand ; 32GB of internal memory

Still no Wi-Fi ; Weak camera capabilities

Samsung Instinct S30 is a solid phone, but it needed Wi-Fi support and better camera specs to be a true upgrade.

Samsung Instinct S30 Review

As mentioned before , the Samsung Instinct S30 is the followup to Sprint's most popular phone from last year. Originally, the Instinct was positioned as an iPhone killer. While that never actually happened, the Instinct was a great phone in its own...

Samsung Instinct S30 review: Samsung Instinct S30

Samsung Instinct S30

The Samsung Instinct S30 offers a slick design, bigger external memory, and an attractive touch-screen interface. Features are respectable and the call quality is satisfactory.

The Samsung Instinct S30's video quality is erratic and it lacks Wi-Fi and camera editing options. In a disappointing move, Samsung and Sprint downgraded the EV-DO support.

The Samsung Instinct S30 has its good points, but Samsung and Sprint missed the opportunity to make a better device.

Samsung Instinct s30 Review

Last summer Sprint took arguably the best shot at the iPhone at the time, and the Samsung Instinct stood toe-to-toe with its fruity rival. Customers no doubt stayed with Sprint because of it, but we doubt too many AT&T customers defected for an...

Review: Samsung Instinct S30

Samsung takes another stab at the basic Instinct. The S30 is an all-around better phone than its predecessor, but it's still far from perfect.

Samsung Instinct S30 Review - Phone Reviews by Mobile Tech Review

When the original Samsung Instinct came out 10 months ago, it made quite a splash not only thanks to Sprint's mega-marketing campaign that pitted it against the 2G iPhone but because it packed a lot of features into a touch screen feature phone. Thanks...

Attractive, large display, supports every Sprint service for multimedia and navigation. Good GPS performance ;

Sprint TV performance is weak, touch screen OS is starting to look clunky compared to other models on the market (notably Samsung's Touch Wiz phones like the Eternity, Impression, Memoir and Behold along with the iPhone). Sorry, no WiFi here

The Instinct S30, like the original Instinct, is a fun phone that's ripe with features. From Sprint TV to GPS to music and web, it's got the goods. More attractive than the original Instinct, the S30 really offers no other incentive to upgrade. EVDO...
