The successor to the iconic W880i brings a new multimedia treats and a more finger-friendly keypad. Is it still our favourite music phone?

Sony Ericsson - W890i

Sony Ericsson doesn't always get its handset design right, and this is particularly the case when it comes to the number pad buttons. Often in the past we've found these buttons to be too small for ...

There are plenty of features in this mobile phone, but what really makes it stand out is the superb design. Small and shiny, it is light and usable. If you don't need a sophisticated camera in your phone it could be ideal.

Sony Ericsson W890i review

The latest addition to the popular Sony Ericsson Walkman range, but will the W890i prove to be a cut above the rest, or just another music phone?…

As has become expected from the Walkman range, the music features are excellent, but it ; s the ultra-fast HSDPA that really sets the W890i apart

The Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot range provides much better cameras

Sony Ericsson has improved an already excellent handset. It really is hard to fault the W890i, from its über-slim design, cracking internet capabilities, Google Maps and of course the built-in music player. A truly accomplished handset.

Sony Ericsson W890i

The first Sony Ericsson phone where thin was definitely in was the Sony Ericsson W880i. It was designed with a handful of simple guidelines in mind " they wanted to come up with a slender fashion-savvy device that would do a perfect job as a secondary...

The Sony Ericsson W890i is no different in terms of target audience, plus it gets all those who loved the original device, but now crave for something new with a better camera and radio onboard. What I need to note here is that the W890i's spec sheet...

Sony Ericsson W890i

A slight upgrade to the popular W880i, Sony Ericsson's latest Walkman phone corrects some of the issues of its excellent, but not perfect predecessor....

Build quality, superb design, HSDPA-capable, 2GB Memory Stick Micro (M2), A2DP Bluetooth, TrackID, SensME

3.2-megapixel camera lacks flash and autofocus

A stylish, classy exterior with excellent build quality, just 10mm thin and boasting an superior keypad and controls despite its compact size. Add HSDPA support and an excellent user interface to the mix and the W890i is almost perfect.

Sony Ericsson W890i Review - Mobile Phones

sony ericsson w890i review: The sleeker user interface, improved keypad and HSDPA make the W890i more attractive than its predecessor, the W880i.

Beautifully designed, Excellent music player, RSS feeds ticker, 2GB bundled memory

Headphone port on side of phone, Keypad still quite small, Poor quality camera

If you like the W880i, you'll love this newer model. The larger keypad and 2GB memory make this slimline Walkman phone a real winner.

Sony Ericsson W890i

Released in the fourth quarter of 2007 at the same time as the W660, the Sony Ericsson W890i is another option from the Sony family that is a full multimedia alternative to the new iPhone. Complete with the popular Sony Music Player, this unit sports a...

Internet browsing is fast and easy ; Talk time is great for both personal and business use ; Internal memory space is a decent 28 MB

No QWERTY keyboard, which some users will miss ; No GPS navigation on the unit, which is surprising

When it comes to networking, the W890 works fine with the super fast and reliable 3G network, as well as the GSM and GPRS networks. Many people find it surprising that so much power can be found in such a small casing, and certainly with no added...
