The Sony Ericsson Zylo is the first phone with FLAC support, but does it hit the right note?

Good media functions ; Excellent widgets ; Nice messaging options ; FLAC support ; Internet features

Poor camera ; Proprietary headphone port ; No microSD card ; Disappointing sound output ; No USB cable

Though Sony Ericsson has recently taken care of the more serious phone users with the Xperia X10, the X10 Mini, the X10 Mini Pro and the Vivaz Pro, those looking for a mid-range feature have been left out for a while.

It would be easy to forget that the world isn't only about smartphones and that some people still want a regular handset. At least Sony Ericsson is hoping so with the Zylo (aka W20i), a slider handset coming with Walkman branding and a price tag for...

XMB, FLAC support, HSDPA, reasonable video quality, nice keyboard

No 3.5mm jack, poor bundled headphones, no Wi-Fi, operating system a little tired and convoluted

There is little to surprise with the Sony Ericsson Zylo. There is also little to set this handset aside from similar models from previous years, from the design to the operating system.
