How much should you spend on a monitor? Not this much

OSD and wired controller ; Dual DVI connectors

Built-in luminance calibration ; Low resolution

Spending the best part of £900 on a 19-inch 1280 x 1024 resolution monitor may seem like insanity, but for colour professionals there's a method to the madness. If you need spot-on colour, a conventional budget monitor will never provide it

High-end colour-calibrated monitors sell for sums that seem insane to anyone who doesn't spend their days fine-tuning the colour balance of photographs and print proofs. So while almost £900 seems like a lot to pay for a 19in monitor with a resolution...

Good colour accuracy, slim and attractive design, wide range of colour operating modes, included luminance calibration hardware, folding light screen

Limited 1,280 x 1,024 resolution, relatively poor brightness, very high price, supplied software not Mac compatible, non-UK power lead

Technically this is a very competent monitor but BenQ is going up against established competition from the likes of Eizo and NEC. And even with the included colour calibration this is one of the most expensive 19in monitors money can buy. Is it worth...
