Philips Brilliance Blade 2 239C4QHSB review

A 23-inch IPS tech-filled monitor with an affordable price

IPS screen ; Slick looks ; Affordable ; Consistent LED backlight

Limited adjustability ; Black levels aren't the best ; Harsh banding ; No DVI connectivity

Seriously slick looks and IPS panel tech is a great combo. But the Philips Blade 2 has a few too many image quality flaws.

Philips Blade 2 (239C4QHSB)

Out-of-box color accuracy, Price, Dirty screen look reduced, Picture quality better than TN panels, Low power consumption

Heavy clouding, Black level, Slow response time

Philips Blade 2 - or 239C4QHSB – is the latest in the line of inexpensive IPS based monitors. It is extremely thin, measuring just 12.5 mm in depth, due to the edge LED backlight. All input connectors have also been moved to the base. The monitor feels...

Philips 239C4QHSB IPS monitor received

Philips 239C4QHSB – or Blade 2 – uses a 23-inch IPS panel with Full HD resolution and 6 ms (g2g) response time. It is extremely slim, measuring just 12.5 mm, due to the edge LED backlighting solution.

Philips Blade 2 C-Line 239C4QHSB Monitor - Going Green

The Blade 2 239C4QB is a 23-inch IPS monitor from Philips and seeks to provide the color fidelity associated with IPS technology to the masses at an affordable price point. It also comes with a host of OSD presets that make the panel suitable for a...

Environmentally friendly design ; No assembly required ; Great range of OSD presets ; Excellent green color reproduction

Unstable tilt system for screen ; Overall green tinge to colors ; Bad response time performance ; Older panel technology used

On the whole, the Philips Blade 2 239C4QHSB tries to meet all the expectations one could have had from a product of this class, but falls slightly short in the performance department. It is reasonably priced and offers a set of above average features....

Philips 239C4QHSB Blade 2

As with nearly all of these screens you can't adjust the height up and down. Whilst used rarely, the configuration buttons (and menus) aren't really that nice to use.

Philips 239C4QHSB Blade 2

Good image quality and viewing angles. Stylish design. Very slim. 2 HDMI's. Good price.

Plastic bezel is poor quality - you can see ripples in it when the light catches it. Clouding (faint cloud like patches of light when screen is completely black).
