Canon i-Sensys MF4690PL

If you're looking for fast scan to print copying from your workgroup laser, this Canon is worth considering.

This is a competent multifunction printer, particularly strong on print and fax, but not so good on copying, if that involves greyscale material. Running costs are reasonable and with only a single consumable maintenance costs should stay low. The...

Canon imageClass MF4690

The Canon imageClass MF4690 is one of the few small-office AIOs that works as a standalone e-mail sender.

Small size. Scans to USB key. Standalone copier, fax machine, and e-mail sender. Can forward faxes to e-mail address.

Can't scan to a PC over network. Setup for direct e-mail is cumbersome and poorly explained.

Canon ImageClass MP4690 review: Canon ImageClass MP4690

Canon ImageClass MP4690

Fast copy and grayscale scan speeds; can scan to a file server or a USB flash drive; built-in ADF, duplexer, and Ethernet networking.

Slower print speeds than the comparably priced competition; scan-to-PC function is a bit clunky; can't block junk faxes.

The Canon ImageClass MP4690 multifunction laser printer offers work groups a lot of bang for the buck, but the Dell 1815dn offers nearly the same feature set and faster prints at the same price.

Outstanding machine

I now have two of these Canon MF printers and both are excellent. They are intuitive and easy to use. The cartridges hold lots of toner. The print quality is first rate. They are so cheap that I was sceptical that they could deliver a decent...

Great AIO for home/small office

If I had to choose one, compact home/small office AIO, this would be it. Exceptionally small footprint and great versatility. Glad I purchased it. I have it plugged into my wireless router and it works great, even send docs from my Droid. Fits my needs.

It works! Never a problem. Prints, scans to file, PDF, USB stick (!), etc. Toner cartridges widely available, often at discount/sale. Decent software suite considering the price for the entire package. Canon support is good (new drivers, etc.) Fast....

Many manuals a bit confusing. Upgrade/support site a little difficult to navigate at first (IMHO), although once you get there it is very complete & up-to-date

Does NOT do duplex scanning

Exchanging for MF4350D which does the same thing without networking and has smaller scan memory and for $150 less. right now the only affordable office machine which does true duplex scanning is the Brother 8085DN for $500.

nice looking, great tech support, sort of, some misinformation. But it does great scanning and printing and faxing so far ; +)

Canon tech support has some misinformation in their sales department, every time i called to either ask a question about duplex scanning or if a particular scanner, including this one, had duplex scanning, the answer was yes. The answer is in fact no,...

It's a moaner, but works well

One of the primary reasons we purchased this printer was it's ability to email a scan without going through the computer. It took me some time and thought to set up, especially to email to a group, but it works very well. The office technophobe loves...

Works like a charm

This is everything that I was expecting. It is probably overkill for home use, but I wanted duplex printing and an automatic feeder. Works great as a photocopier (replacing scanning to the PC and then printing).I am alsso copying a bunch of Photos and...
