Canon imageClass LBP251dw

Canon's imageClass LBP251dw monochrome laser prints terrific-looking text, graphics, and grayscale photos at a respectable speed for the price, but lower running costs would increase its overall value.

Outstanding print quality. Respectable print speed. Low price. Two paper-input sources. Expandable paper-input capacity. Relatively small and light. Department ID Manager feature lets you control access by user or group of users.

Slightly high running costs. No memory-drive support.

Canon's relatively small imageClass LBP251dw prints text, and grayscale graphics and photos as well as or better than most other monochrome laser printers, and it does so at a good clip and a competitive cost per page. But Dell's Smart Printer S2830dn...

Canon Color ImageClass LBP712Cdn

The Canon Color ImageClass LBP712Cdn is a laser printer that's fast and churns out excellent-looking output across the board, but a steep purchase price and a high cost per page for its class diminish its overall value.

Excellent print quality, especially for photos. Fast. PCL and PostScript emulation. Spacious paper drawer and multipurpose tray. Highly expandable paper capacity.

High purchase price. Relatively high running costs. Expensive optional paper trays. No Wi-Fi Direct or NFC. No Wi-Fi (wireless), even as an option. Available only through select Canon dealers.

Conclusion Without question, the Canon ImageClass LBP712Cdn is a high-performing machine with excellent print quality. In fact, the only real issue keeping it from faring better in this review is how much it costs up front, and then how much it keeps...

Canon ImageClass MP4690 review: Canon ImageClass MP4690

Canon ImageClass MP4690

Fast copy and grayscale scan speeds; can scan to a file server or a USB flash drive; built-in ADF, duplexer, and Ethernet networking.

Slower print speeds than the comparably priced competition; scan-to-PC function is a bit clunky; can't block junk faxes.

The Canon ImageClass MP4690 multifunction laser printer offers work groups a lot of bang for the buck, but the Dell 1815dn offers nearly the same feature set and faster prints at the same price.

Canon imageCLASS MP730

The good performance, quiet operation, and a solid software package makes the MP730 an ideal choice for SOHO users.

Not good with a MAC

After paying for two professional installations, no one was able to make it compatible with my Mac. Bottom line, Brother does not work well with Mac. I now own an HP and it instantly connects with my Mac. NO PROBLEMS. I really wanted this Brother to...

Good luck with one out of two

I have one of these printers at my home in FL, so bought one for home in IL. One in IL worked OK for a few weeks and then lost WIFI connectivity. Getting it to connect initially was hard. Could not get it to connect to WIFI again. I have not had this...

Terrific printer

Have tried other wireless brands and gave up on setting them up wirelessly. This brand was a cinch, simple instructions and I was on line. Happy with every feature.
