Epson Stylus Photo R220 review

The R220 knocks out A4 prints and will print onto CDs and DVDs using 6-ink printing technology

Unbeatable value as an introduction to photo printing

Epson Stylus Photo R220 review

Simple but effective, the R220 is a bona fide steal

Brilliant at the basics ; Great colour recreation

Lacks any extra special stuff

Basic to the point of austerity but does boast very accurate colour rendition

Epson - Stylus Photo R220

The Epson Stylus Photo series has been consistently impressive in recent years in producing high quality photo images, with a good range of both hardware and software extras to appeal to both casual photographers and intensive ...

If you're on a limited budget and want to produce good quality photos on standard formats via your PC, then this is a reasonable bargain. The lack of memory card slots is a serious deficiency, though, and it would probably be wiser to spend more for...

Not unique - but still quite rare - are printers that not only can print text and photographic images but also print direct onto CD's the Epson R220 does it all.

Review: Epson Stylus Photo R220

Look around the internet for a budget A4 photo printer and you'll find the Epson R220 selling for around £55 now. Is it possible to get decent performance at this price?

Excellent print quality, CD printing, price

Slower than some competitors, no duplex unit, concerns over bundled software, ink costs

Once you get over the installation problems and the decidedly unfriendly Mac software you will find a very useful printer that is worth more than it is priced at. A4 printing is quick and jam-free and photo-prints are colourful and accurate. Ink prices...

Epson Stylus Photo R220

The no-frills R220 offers top-quality photo printing from a PC and prints onto discs.

Affordably priced, Good looking photos on photo paper

Produces weak prints on plain paper, Lacks a color LCD and media card slots

The Epson Stylus Photo R220 is a slow, no-frills budget printer that produces weak prints on plain paper, but wonderful photos on photo paper.

Affordably priced ; Good looking photos on photo paper

Produces weak prints on plain paper ; Lacks a color LCD and media card slots

This no-frills printer produces wonderful photos, but it's slow and print quality on plain paper is lackluster.

Epson Stylus Photo R220

The Epson Stylus Photo R220 handles photos very well and is reasonably good at printing graphics, but it's a marginal choice for printing text.

Good output quality. Prints directly on printable optical discs. Photo print speed is very good for the price range.

Does not print directly from camera or PC cards. No memory card slots. Poor performance on our business applications suite.
