Slow colour print speeds together with an extremely high price cripple this feature-packed MFP.

Lexmark Platinum Pro905 review

Lexmark's Platinum Pro905 is wince-inducingly expensive, but has lots of features including a 4.3in touchscreen, a fax and a memory card reader.

Slow colour print speeds together with an extremely high price cripple this feature-packed MFP.

Lexmark Platinum Pro905 review

Although few applications are currently available, the concept has potential. Comparisons to the HP Photosmart Premium Touchsmart web All-in-One Printer are inevitable, but HP places a greater emphasis on prefabricated apps for consumers, while Lexmark...

Lexmark's Platinum Pro905 all-in-one printer offers two good things for any small office: lots of paper handling and cheap ink. These attributes somewhat make up for the device's middling speed and print quality. Consider the Lexmark Platinum Pro905 if...

REVIEW: Lexmark Platinum Pro 905

Printers may not top the typical computer user's hot technologies list, but for businesses they're an essential asset for communicating both internally and with clients and customers. The multifunction variety satisfies businesses' need to print, copy...

The Lexmark Platinum Pro 905 would make a good addition to any modern office, and its high-speed 802.11n wireless makes it easy to integrate with Wi-Fi networks. It’s a good all-round printer with some excellent features―such as the SmartSolutions...

Lexmark - Platinum Pro905

The Platinum Pro905 sits at the top of Lexmark's range of Professional all-in-one printers. It's aimed at the SOHO market, with one eye on budget colour laser multifunctions. The advantages of inkjet over laser are in ...

This is a versatile, well-equipped all-in-one, which is great to use and flexible enough to handle most small-business tasks. And so it should, at over £350. This is probably the most expensive machine of its type currently available and you'll need to...

Lexmark Platinum Pro905

At the top of Lexmark's new range of inkjet all-in-ones is the Platinum Pro905. It looks great, being sleek, black and shiny, and boasts loads of features, including duplex printing, an automatic document feeder and touchscreen controls

This gives a cost per ISO black page of only just over 0.7p per page, a lot lower than from any other inkjet printer or all-in-one we can think of. Colour inks don't benefit from the same discounts, and a colour page costs just under 6.5p. Even so,...

Lexmark Platinum Pro905 inkjet multifunction

An inkjet multifunction with Internet-based widgets and a large paper tray

Automatic duplexer, 300-sheet paper capacity, Internet-based widgets

Expensive initial outlay, poor print quality, slow print speeds, some SmartSolutions widgets aren't Mac compatible

With two paper trays, double-sided printing and Lexmark's SmartSolutions platform, the Platinum Pro905 is a good choice for businesses that print a lot of documents, but it is expensive.

Lexmark Platinum Pro905

The Lexmark Platinum Pro905 color inkjet multifunction printer is a well-equipped, competent small-office MFP with a twist: Users can access and view Web-based applications on its large, touchscreen LCD. Though few applications are currently available,...

Web-based apps are promising ; Plentiful paper handling ; Cheap ink

Expensive purchase price ; Middling speed ; Flesh tones look unnatural

Web capabilities and generous features make the Pro905 worth considering for a small office, although it's average in other respects.

Lexmark Platinum Pro 905 review: Lexmark Platinum Pro 905

Lexmark Platinum Pro 905

Fast print speeds; two separate paper trays; easy wireless setup; comprehensive driver features; foolproof Smart Solutions widgets.

No Bluetooth support; expensive; auto-document feeder not adjustable.

The Lexmark Platinum Pro 905 is a fully capable all-in-one business device, but its touch screen might throw a wrench in your workflow. The Smart Solutions widgets add virtual customization to the control panel, but we wish Lexmark had retained a few...
