Epson EH-TW2900 LCD Projector

The Epson EH-TW2900 is suitably included in the growing list of decent and attractively priced home cinema projectors.

I somehow contrived to finish the main review on what felt like something of a downer. But this really isn’t a fair reflection of the Epson TW2900 overall. For while it might not have the brassy casual appeal of Optoma and BenQ's recent mega-cheap DLP...

Epson EH-TW2900 review

This newcomer from Epson is not quite a class-leader, but it gets mighty close to the best available at this competitive price-point

Easy set-up, Full HD;bright, vivid colours ; good insight ; quiet

Lacks solidity with black levels ; a little soft around edges

A solid effort from Epson – the projector's small flaws only highlight the quality available at this price

Epson EH-TW2900 projector

With the birth of Blu-ray comes the re-birth of home cinema projectors, but until now affordable Full HD 1080p models have been very expensive. Leading the charge in the circa-£1000 market comes Epson with its feature-rich TW2900, a no-nonsense...

Good value Full HD pictures, whisper quiet, easy to set-up

Average contrast, slightly soft 1080p image

What the TW2900 lacks in perfect contrast and detailing it makes up packaging together simplicity of use with a consistently impressive image that will impress most users.

Epson EH-TW2900 review

An LCD projector that proves it's the quiet ones you've got to watch

Precise HD images ; Easy setup ; Quiet operation

Average contrast ; Rather fiddly onscreen menus

A great value way of discovering full HD for a grand, this projector offers exciting pictures and is whisper quiet

Epson EH-TW2900 review

At just under £1,200, Epson's EH-TW2900 is one of the cheapest 1080p LCD home cinema projectors currently available. It's significantly larger than similarly priced DLP projectors, so it's not an ideal choice if you want a projector that can easily be...

The cheapest LCD projector we've ever reviewed is the best value choice if you can't stand DLP, even though its rendition of dark scenes lacks impact.

Epson EH-TW 2900

Versatile lens-shift optics., Massive zoom factor., Sharp HD pictures., Full colour-management system.

Exaggerated colours., Slight colouration in black images., Average in-picture contrast.

Excellent features for your money! The build quality also pleases, as does the extremely versatile installation, but Epson’s LCD projector fails to make the most of its potential — its presets, for example, show subtle discolourations. Experts can...
