It's only the third Samsung projector we've seen, so here's hoping it's a fine one.

This sensibly priced and well-specified projector is very easy to live with
Colour realism ; black depth ; good spec ; quiet ; decent value
Fiddly to install ; some picture noise ; motion could be better
A quality offering at a sensible price – pleasant to live with, easy to admire

Pricey, but this bling beamer's got it where it counts
Deep blacks ; Great colour ; Styling
No frame insertion ; Some judder
As a mid-priced Blu-ray beamer, there's few better, though its lack of practical flexibility could hold it back

While home cinema projectors are hardly "all the rage", if you find an affordable model you can live with the prize is irresistible; huge Full HD images that give games and movies a whole new feeling. For all its cinematic goodness, nice styling and...

Some judder, high price
For all its cinematic goodness, nice styling and ease of use, Samsung's SP-A600B is stuck somewhere between the real bargain Full HD projectors and the high-end. As such it's a step-up model for those who are after something more solid and dependable,...

Samsung showed up at the 2009 CEDIA Expo with it's new SP-A600 DLP home theater projector - a product that aims at taking its higher end SP-A800 home theater projector and making it affordable.

Powerful light output., Superb 24p reproduction., Excellent colours in the bright lamp mode., Simple operation., Sharp zoom optics, right up to the edge of the picture.
Weaknesses in the de-interlacing., Colour errors in eco mode require a firmware update.
This Samsung has nothing to fear from similarly priced competitors — the colour purity, sharpness, and brightness are all the best that money can buy. Weaknesses in its de-interlacing and faulty non-primary colours in eco mode slightly water down the...

The SP-A600 is a bit of a departure from Samsung's reputation for home theater projectors. Samsung has been best known for their more expensive SP-A800, SP-A700 and before them, eariler models that offered rather excellent color and image accuracy....
Good out of the Box picture quality ; Very good color accuracy post calibration in best mode (Movie 1) ; Well balanced, good overall picture quality (although gamma is off a bit) ; A very bright entry-level projector in its "best" mode, just above...
The remote control's lack of a backlight ; Dark shadow detail, while good, isn't up to a few other projectors priced similarly ; Limited placement flexibility, and no lens shift ; Black level performance is definitely entry level ; Slight light leak...
It's one of those projectors that a first-time buyer can really enjoy, and a good first step 1080p projector for those who catch the "bug" and become enthusiasts

The Samsung SP-A600 is a solid performer for an entry level 1080p projector. OK, it’s a DLP projector so, as expected, it doesn’t have the placement flexibility of an LCD home theater projector in the same price range. However, that’s a non-issue if it...
