An excellent amp, and a very worthy step-up over the £500 pack

Breathtaking dynamics ; powerful, solid bass ; natural, detailed presentation ; excellent surround sound processing

Specification could be more comprehensive

An expertly tuned AV amplifier that, sonically, is a cut above the other machines in this line-up

Speaker set up is easy using the Yamaha YPAO function.

Instruction book is quite complicated for novices, but most simple functions are doable without too much fuss.

Yamaha DSPAX863SE Home Cinema Amplifier

Covers all the necessary formats for Blu- Ray DVD. Surprisingly good reproduction of music using the optional i-pod attachment. All in all an excellent purchase for me.

No real negatives considering the price.
