Humax HDR-7500T

Humax's HDR-7500T is a solid performer if you're after a PVR, but for ease of use it's still got a long way to go to unseat TiVo.

Dual tuners ; iView and DLNA capability ; Ad-skipping

Remote is poorly laid out ; Significantly less function unless you pay for IceTV ; Quirky DLNA performance

The HDR-7500T is a decent dual-channel PVR with in-built DLNA and at least a smattering of apps that could grow into a larger library over time — but we can only review what's placed in front of us, not what could be. There's no shortage of competing...

Review: Humax HDR-7500T

After TiVo's recent demise in Australia, consumers are now looking for a replacement DVR. One such device on offer is the Humax HDR-7500T and we took a look. While the brand name Humax may not be fam...

Overall the Humax DVR-7500T is a really solid DVR and a great replacement for TiVo owners when they inevitably die. The IceTV functionality is technically optional, but the device would be uncompetitive without it. If you can get in quick and score...

Review: Humax HDR-7500T

Acting as both a set-top box and PVR, the HDR-7500T enables you to watch and record digital TV, use YouTube and iView and access content from your network and USB hard drives.

Humax HDR-7500T

Humax's first Australian PVR has plenty of bells and whistles, plus a few tricks to help it stand out from the crowd.

Ad-skipping; IceTV; iView; DLNA

Limited storage management; no Samba

iView and DLNA, along with IceTV compatibility, earn Humax’s HDR-7500T automatic entry into the shortlist for Australian PVR shoppers. But if you’re after a PVR which ‘just works’, weigh up IceTV devices against the TiVo and Foxtel iQ2.

Great unit - 2 years old and no issues

ew company by the same name arises but now needs a payment of $7 per month. The stock standard inbuilt guide and recording function for series is not as good and now with the advent of streaming tv subscriptions I might choose another option.

Dies just about warranty expiry time! Old machine better than the new 4tune (HMS-1000T)

ed to the store. Hopeless. you have to go through the EPG to find say movies. A big task. Once programs are recorded they are sorted into silly categories : by channel, by date - who wants to know that? I would like to look through the recorded movies...

Carked it just out of warranty period

This unit was not ffy from the start, worked ok for a bit, but then had to reboot it at least once a week, then a few months out of warranty it started freezing, lost access to hard drive etc. Rendering it unuasable. I won't buy another Humax that's...

Consumer review (productreview.com.au)

This unit doesn't even meet Beta standards. Did they actually test this?

Worst piece of home entertainment technology I have ever bought. It keeps losing its record whole season memory. The pause, fast forward and rewind function often stops working and worst of all their warranty department doesn't even respond to emails...
