Microtek ScanMaker S400

Pleasing images and a great software bundle make this versatile scanner a worthy contender.

The multitalented Microtek ScanMaker S400 provides good-looking scans and ample software, but you'll have to settle for average speed performance.

Abysmal Software/support

The hardware is probably good, if you can get it to work.

The software is about as buggy as I've seen since the 90's.

STAY AWAY

Microtek has bad customer service. They sent me a replacement scanner (after I had to pay for shipping) and the inside of the glass bed was dirty. The negitave attachment was orginally broken, the lamp was burnt out on the first one. Now makes extra...

I used to think it had good color quality

LOUD and very slow ; Very sad that it died in only a few months
