Sonos Roam review: Sonos slickness in a small Bluetooth speaker

The Sonos Roam sounds good and is definitely convenient, but is really for those who'll use its portable side the most

Striking sound overall ; Strong frame and waterproofing ; Great streaming options and features

The Sonos Roam is the Swiss Army Knife of speakers with multi-room, Bluetooth and smart features inside a compact design that'll follow wherever you go.

A brilliant wireless speaker with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Alexa and Google Assistant support

Sounds phenomenal for the size ; Alexa and Google Assistant support ; Qi wireless charging

Voice assistant setup can be a pain ; No charger supplied in the box ; No 3.5mm audio input

There are niggles, then, but once you’ve dealt with the voice assistant setup and learned how to switch sources, the Sonos Roam is as near as any Bluetooth speaker I’ve tested to being perfect.

The $169 Sonos Roam isn't the cheapest Sonos speaker, but it is easily the most versatile. We think it's an incredible portable speaker for the price.
