AMD Ryzen 5 2400G

If you're building a gaming PC on an extreme budget—meaning, minus a graphics card—it's hard to top AMD's Ryzen 5 2400G, whose powerful Vega 11 integrated GPU can deliver, within limits, an enjoyable experience by itself.

Inexpensive. Good compatibility with existing AMD AM4 motherboards. Surprisingly good gaming performance for an integrated graphics processor. Overclockable.

General computing performance lags slightly.

Bottom Line: If you're building a gaming PC on an extreme budget—meaning, minus a graphics card—it's hard to top AMD's Ryzen 5 2400G, whose powerful Vega 11 integrated GPU can deliver, within limits, an enjoyable experience by itself.

Despite AMDs resurgence to kick it with the high end of mainstream processors, the biggest volume sales occur more in the mid-range where the parts are often competitively priced. In the segment, AMD currently has the Ryzen 5 2600 and the 2400G at...

It will be interesting to see if AMD ever sells these at retail. There are four other chips they are not selling at retail either (at least, not retail worldwide): the 2700E, 2600E, 2400GE, and 2200GE. If anyone finds any of these for sale, let me know...
