Does size matter or is it what you do with it that counts?
Huge 18x zoom lens ; Effective image stabilisation ; Compact for the features it contains
Awkward exposure shifts when recording video ; Fiddly interface quirks
Olympus' super-zooms have most definitely come of age

The Olympus MJU 1040 is a 10 megapixel digital camera with a 3x optical zoom lens. It is small enough to slip into a pocket and looks good too. The emphasis is on simplicity rather than getting bogged down with a wide array of features. This is a good...
Style - ease of use
Loss of detail in light areas on sunny days
This is a very small and stylish camera. You should have no problem slipping it into a pocket. It offers fair value for money. When compared to other pocket cameras it is easy to use and comes with a basic set of features. Picture quality is o.k....

Great body design; high-quality, fast, wide, 18x optical zoom lens; sensor-shift image stabilization; manual exposure controls; RAW image capture.
Very slow; high noise above ISO 400; slightly soft images.
Olympus' SP-550UZ has great ergonomics, but disappointingly slow performance and soft, noisy images drag it down.

A Mju with plenty of mojo
Stylish appearance, fast and reliable, lots of features for the asking price
Underpowered zoom and flash, occasional image issues, small and unwieldy buttons
Consumer review (newegg.com)
Light, good optics, cheap. Great to have in a car ; My other binoculars have become 'special purpose
Not waterproof
Consumer review (shopping.com)
Mechanics: the 7x35 DPS-I binocular is a strong and sturdy design with rubber protection. The chassis is metal not plastic hence pretty heavy (regrettably eyepiece holders are plastic so there's minor flexing)
wide field, pretty nice and clear image, sturdy design
small spherical aberration and glare, little heavy
