Pocketable camcorders continue to be all the rage, the Flip Mino HD being the latest instalment.
In fact, after initially setting time and date, there is almost nothing else to control on the Mino HD other than starting and stopping recording. There are plus and minus buttons to operate the 2x digital zoom, but annoyingly these only become active...

After much malarkey about when we were allowed to post our review of this product, it seems today is the day we can finally tell you our thoughts about the not-so-secret Flip MinoHD (it came out in the US months ago and has been available for preorder...
Ideal for slinging in a rucksack or jeans pocket for a day’s sightseeing or a trip to the beach, the Flip MinoHD is an affordably priced, amazingly straightforward piece of gadgetry that records good-looking footage you won’t be ashamed to revisit a...

The new Flip has added 720p video to its armoury. Can it gun down the Kodak Zi6 or Creative Vado HD?
You won’t be dazzled by its video or LCD, but this pocket camcorder is child's play to use and not bad in low light

Weighing less than 100g, yet boasting high definition video recording, Flip's new Mino HD looks to challenge the assumption that portability compromises quality
The Mino HD is ideal for the YouTube generation. Its wonderful portability and excellent video quality more than compensate for lack of high-end controls

Following in the footsteps of its predecessors - the successful and undeniably popular Flip Ultra and Flip Mino - it was only a matter of time before enthusiasts of these dinky, pocket-sized video cameras were given ...
A sleek and extremely portable video device that offers simple capture, playback and creative support. Videos are crisp with excellent sound and impressive HD quality for such a small device. However, colours are a little muted and it doesn't cope well...

The best Flip yet, but it's missing a few features that would help to justify the increased price.
We’ve always admired the simplicity of the Flip range, and the compact design and improved image quality of the Flip Mino HD do make it a very attractive option for anyone that wants a high-quality camcorder that they can just slip into their pocket...

Flip Video MinoHD second generation
Solid 720p video, particularly for its size; slightly slicker ultraslim yet functional design; large 2-inch LCD; easy to use; integrated lithium ion rechargeable battery; HDMI output; FlipShare software compatible with both Macs and Windows machines.
Fairly pricey; no SD/MMC card expansion slot; no cable included for HD output to HDTVs.
Still one of the nicest models available, the second-generation Flip MinoHD offers a slightly improved design, double the memory, and an HDMI output for the same price that the original MinoHD used to cost.

Pure Digital may have pioneered the concept of the YouTube camcorder with the original Flip, back in 2006, but it was Kodak that truly raised the bar in this space earlier this year, with its release of the Zi6. The long-standing still-camera...
Records high-quality HD video. Compact. Double the storage of the original Flip Mino
Small screen. Memory isn't expandable
Pure Digital takes the next logical step, adding high-definition recording to its Flip Mino mini camcorder. While there are few physical changes, you do get more built-in storageand you'll pay a lot more.

Flip Video MinoHD
Solid 720p video, particularly for a camcorder this size; ultraslim yet functional design; easy to use; one-touch video uploading to YouTube, AOL, and MySpace; integrated lithium ion rechargeable battery; FlipShare software is compatible with both Macs...
Somewhat pricey; no SD/MMC card expansion slot; rechargeable battery isn't removable or replaceable; can't output HD to HDTVs.
While it has its flaws and is a bit expensive, the ultrasimple Flip Video MinoHD produces impressive video for a camcorder of its size.

Super portable and spontaneous HD video in your pocket
Needs stabilization and HDMI port
We’re big fans of Flip Video’s incredibly easy-to-use pocket-size video cameras, but it’s been difficult to wholeheartedly recommend them given the superior video capabilities of today’s point-and-shoot digicams.
