A very good regular camcorder with action camcorder ruggedness
Rugged build like an action camera ; 40x optical zoom ; Manual settings
Entry-level camcorder specification ; Non-removable battery ; No scene modes or manual shutter and iris
The JVC HD Everio GZ-R10SE is a bold and mostly successful attempt to bring action camera robustness to mainstream camcorders.

The toughened-up JVC R10 is a decent camcorder, but just don't take it swimming.
Overall, video performance from the R10 was good. More contrast would have been nice but the video had good color, the autofocus was both quick and accurate, and the motion dampening system seemed up to the task at all but the longest of zoom settings....

With a 40x zoom lens and a body that can withstand water, drops, dust, and cold, the Everio GZ-R10 is a good move for the family camcorder. Too bad the video quality isn't better.
The JVC Everio GZ-R10 is a compact, lightweight full-HD camcorder that's water-, shock-, dust-, and freezeproof without a housing. It has a 40x zoom lens, is easy to operate, and has good battery life.
The video quality is just OK, but disappointing considering its price; the battery is built in; image stabilization is digital, not optical; and the low-resolution touchscreen isn't very sensitive.
JVC's move to offer consumers a durable family camcorder is solid, but the quadproof Everio GZ-R10 on the whole comes up short.

There was a time when buying a camcorder for capturing moments with your family and friends was a given, something you just did even if you only broke it out for special events. That time has just about passed, though, with everything from smartphones...

When we want to shoot video we usually reach for our smartphone but if you're in or near water that's not possible which is where the JVC HD Everio GZ-R10 comes in. The JVC device looks like most other camcorders on the market complete with a flip out...
The JVC HD Everio is an impressive camcorder that’s useful no matter where you go and what sort of conditions you face. While it doesn’t have the appeal of a Go Pro or a smartphone when it comes to shooting videos it does have features that can’t all...

If you're looking for a durable family camcorder that can handle the bumps and scrapes and still produce decent results then the JVC HD Everio is worth a look.

I owned a JVC GZ-E306 camcorder that took one too many falls from the tripod being used on my Youtube channel - Redneck Garage. I had used it for about two years and was very happy with the video quality and sound aspects. I went ahead and purchased...

I have an older model of this camera, which is out of warranty. Customer support will not provide the part number so I can order the part and repair for myself. They insist that I mail the camera at my expense to their only authorized dealer in...
