It's a bird, it's a plane ... no, it's a 6-in-1 recorder/player.

Vivitar's DVR-390H combines a digital still camera, MPEG4 camcorder, TV/Video recorder, digital photo frame, MP3 player and voice recorder. However, the only way to store data on the 20GB hard drive is by capturing it with the device or downloading it...

I have owned my DVR 390H for nearly 2 years now and must admit that, at first, I thought it was rubbish... that was until I found out that I needed a scart lead with the red/white/yellow plugs to connect the base unit to whatever I wanted to record...
The quality of the films recorded on it are brilliant and the sound good too. Great for taking films/music/photos on holiday with you. Great that you can use it as a camcorder and also as a camera. I consider it great value for the money I paid for...

Best feature - very cheap! Nice big, bright screen. lots of hard drive space. simple to explore navigation. recorded TV no problem but quality not top notch though acceptable for price of unit. Plays all my MP3s no problem, though best to organise on...
pretty naff camera with staggered digital zoom but works. easy to put battery in the wrong way round. recorder bit is solid and metallic but the connection to camera seems pretty flimsy. The MP4 it produces are big for the visual quality of them. USB...

Bought one today from Harris Scarfe for $399AUD. An absolute steal at this price....blah to your vertical banding and blah to your battery life. This product at that price has got my vote!!!

What a totally cool product - all you need is an optical zoom, and support for standard MPEG 2 (for viewing DVDs that you've copied with your PC using DVD Decrypter.
