Acer Aspire X1700-U3700A

The Aspire X1700-U3700A is Acer's compact, sub-$500 dual-core PC for the den or the home theater.

Compact form factor. Some DX10 3D capabilities. More powerful than nettops and budget PCs. HDMI port.

Single-digit 3D scores. No Blu-ray. Limited expansion. Crapware. No Wi-Fi.

Acer Aspire X1700-U3700A review: Acer Aspire X1700-U3700A

Acer Aspire X1700-U3700A

Space-saving design; includes unique extras such as HDMI video, digital audio output, and eSATA port.

Competition offers faster performance; a cramped interior limits expansion.

The Acer X1700-U3700A is slightly slower than the competition, but it gives you almost every component you need in either a basic desktop or a light-duty home theater PC. If you prefer functionality to performance, we recommend this model out of the...

Acer Aspire X3200 Review

Neither our system's Phenom X3 nor the newer SKU's X4 is one of AMD's new larger-cache, smaller-die-size Phenom II processors, but the X3200 motors along nicely enough without that. Everyday performance feels perky, while most benchmark scores are fair...

Acer X3200

Due to it being a recon I got a lot of power for the price.

It looks like you get lots of extra games but these are time limited trials. Had some problems playing DVD files (files copied onto computer rather than DVD discs) due to how Acer sets up media centre, managed to do it but needed a reasonable computer...
