Acer Predator G3620_H review

On the "wrong" side of the ledger, the Predator has an AMD Radeon HD 8760 video card (the OEM version of the milquetoast Radeon HD 7770), a chintzy custom motherboard with just one PCIe x16 slot (occupied), and a miniscule 16GB SSD that serves as a...

The Predator is a better-than-average family PC, but hard-core gamers will find it to be weak tea.

Acer Predator AG3620-UR12 Review

Acer has constructed a middle-ground system that's palatable for gamers on the budget but doesn't impress.

Acer’s Predator falls afoul of the same issues that have plagued every major manufacturer’s attempt to enter the gaming space. Though competent, the system’s hardware is designed to serve up an impressive specification sheet instead of awesome gaming....

Review: Acer's Predator is relatively toothless

Don't let the aggressive design fool you: This gaming rig is a pussycat, not a tiger.

Powerful CPU ; 32GB of memory ; Slide-out drive tray with SATA connections

Weak video card ; Just one x16 PCIe slot ; Relatively poor gaming performance

The Predator just isn't as ferocious as Acer would like us to think it is.

Acer Predator AG3620-UR12

The Acer Predator AG3620-UR12 desktop won't wow you with performance or impress anyone with its style, but it does offer modest performance for the budget-conscious gamer.

Affordable price. Intel Core i7-3770 Quad-core processing with 32GB of RAM. AMD Radeon HD 8760 graphics. Giant 2TB hard drive with 16GB flash cache. Lots of USB ports available.

Bland looks. Bundled keyboard and mouse are lousy. Limited upgradability.

That said, even among these entry-level systems, the Acer Predator AG3620-UR12 offers passable performance at a relatively affordable price, coming in hundreds of dollars less. While this off-the-shelf system won't impress people with its looks or...

Acer Predator AG3620-UR21P

The Acer Predator AG3620-UR21P looks like a gaming desktop PC, but don't be fooled?it's better suited for more serious processing tasks.

Decent all-around performance. Includes hefty multithreading processor, lots of RAM. Utilizes SSD for speedy booting and program launching.

Less-expensive computers perform better in many areas. Middling discrete video card.

Acer Predator AG3620 Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the new Acer Predator AG3260 gaming PC. While “gaming PC” and “Acer” may not be two terms you immediately associate with one another, Acer has impressed in the past, and is now looking to wow consumers with its...

In many ways, I’m torn when it comes time to decide whether or not the Predator AG3620 deserves a recommendation. It’s true that the computer struggled with Far Cry 3 , but with Arkham City and Skyrim , the results were pretty good. The fact that you...

Consumer review (newegg.com)

Solid box, mediocre Linux support

Mostly use to play Steam (DotA 2) and movies. Works well with a 42'' monitor at 1080p

Very fast compute and generous RAM

ATI's support for Linux is meh, still can't get better than stereo out via HDMI (works in Windows though)

Very Fast SSD

Windows 8, Missing driver support. Poor navigation with KB & Mouse. Should offer boot as Win 8 or Boot as Win 7
