The Apple iMac 27-inch (2020) has seen new processor and SSD upgrades, but is still lacking the previously rumoured redesign
Excellent 5K display;Versatile performance and customisable options;Much improved 1080p webcam;Plenty of ports
A refreshed design would have been nice, especially with a slimmer bezel;Keyboard and mouse aren't the best;8GB base RAM feels a little tight

A formidable upgrade
Improved internals ; Same price as last year's model ; Can be configured to be very powerful ; Improved webcam is great
Design is getting old ; Just two Thunderbolt ports
The Apple iMac 27-inch (2020) offers some big improvements, specs wise, compared to its predecessor, and looks set to be Apple's best all-in-one yet. The upgrades to the webcam and microphones are especially welcome for anyone working from home....

The 2020 iMac is a welcome performance boost over the 2019 version. Every single aspect of this hardware is up to date, more pro than ever before.
Unbelievable levels of power ; Quite configurable ; All SSD for top read/write speeds ; Nano-texture glass for anti-reflection will appeal to pros
Design refresh is still needed ; Bigger screen bezel than many competitors ; Price can escalate steeply with options
Although this 2020 model doesn't bring a redesign, it's a welcome performance boost over the 2019 version. It's more 'pro' than ever. For now Apple's near future is still very much Intel-based - and we see no reason to wait out for Apple Silicon just yet.

Apple's latest iMac looks the same as the last one – and every iMac back to 2012. But people always say it's what's on the inside that counts…
Superb display ; Solid performance ; Quiet in use ; 1080p camera
Dated design ; No Face ID ; Miserly SSD in entry-level model ; Spec updates can quickly get pricey
Another good iMac. Buy one if you’re again happy with refinement rather than revolution

Apple Silicon Macs are coming, which puts the new Intel 5K iMac in a strange position. It may be one of the last of its kind, but is it worth buying anyway?
Better storage and RAM options ; Improved graphics ; Vastly improved performance ; Nano-texture glass is revolutionary ; Speakers and webcam are top notch
Outdated design ; No Apple Silicon

The 27-inch Apple iMac gains a 1080p webcam, a new matte-finish screen option, and faster CPU and GPU picks. Add all that up, and it remains one of the best big-screen all-in-one computers for the prosumer and work-from-home crowds.

Apple's latest 27-inch iMac 2020 is a fantastic all-in-one PC for creative professionals.
Powerful ; Slimline ; Improved webcam ; Configurable
Pricey ; Design hasn't changed
The latest iMac 27-inch (2020) is an ideal all-in-one machine for creatives, combining cutting-edge performance, great new features for working from home, and that iconic design.

The new 27-inch iMac is jaw-dropping in practically every way, not least in price… so is this the ultimate computer for creatives?
Design, build and materials ; The Mac OS and apps ; That eye-popping display
Cost, cost, cost ; Hard/impossible to upgrade later
Apple products divide opinion, and the 27-inch iMac exemplifies the divide between those who resent the brand’s prices, designs, simplifications and restrictions, and those who will willingly pay more to get less. We are not talking about less power...

Working from home never looked this good!
5K screen’s colours and accuracy ; Design and build quality still sets standards ; Performance is strong and stable
No Face ID or Touch ID ; No backlit keyboard ; The screen doesn’t adjust for height
There’s no reason you shouldn’t consider this if you need to up your work-from-home game, now!

The latest iMac 27 inch 2020 is the best stationary Mac for many, despite a not insignificant drawback.
Significantly upgraded performance with razor sharp screen, good connectivity, new T2 processor and relatively well priced. Also Mac OS then.
Comes with far too little memory. Apple charges very well for more memory and more SSD storage, and better graphics performance is not cheap either.
Apple’s latest generation iMac with the classic unibody design has never been a better choice than now. For half the price of an iMac Pro, you get better performance on almost anything you can think of, if you have put in a lot more memory, and...
