A stylish, sleek iMac with all the tools a photographer should need. The Apple iMac 27" review follows....
Fantastically powerful, looks great, Thunderbolt has potential
Very expensive, few Thunderbolt devices
Such is the performance of the iMac that even those spending the extra would be impressed. The future appearance of Thunderbolt devices means, at the current time, more potential is yet to be realized but if prior models are any evidence the likelihood...

The new 27in iMac might be great fun but is it really worth £1,600+? That kind of money could buy you a damn hot 3D games machine, a pretty decent workstation, a touchscreen marvel… or even a mid-range MacBook Pro. But factor in the beautiful screen,...

If you own or run a graphics-oriented business, you can stop buying Mac Pros and switch most of your staff to the new Apple iMac 27-inch (Thunderbolt).
Huge 27-inch display. 2,560-by-1,440 (larger than 1080p HD) screen resolution. High-end discrete 3D graphics. Two Thunderbolt ports. Supports two external displays. 802.11a/b/g/n 5GHz Wi-Fi. Wireless keyboard and mouse. No cost optional Magic Trackpad....
Only Thunderbolt input for display (No HDMI in, no mini DisplayPort in). No Blu-ray. Could use a matte screen. Pricier than other high-end all-in-one desktops.
Another nit is Apple's shunning of Blu-ray technology. Internal Blu-ray drives are not an option on any iMac. Apple doesn't view Blu-ray optical discs as a replacement for data DVDs, and would rather you bought your HD videos from the iTunes Store...

The Apple iMac 27-inch (Core i5) gives you speedy quad-core power, better 3D and the same large screen as its previous iteration, for a couple hundred bucks less.
True quad-core power. Wireless keyboard/mouse. Mini DisplayPort in/out. Screen has 2,560 by 1,440 resolution. Large display. Green certifications. 802.11a/n 5GHz support.
Still no Blu-ray drive. No eSATA. Card reader is SD/SDHC/SDXC only. Requires third-party adapter for HDMI or DVI.

A year ago I tried the notebook as a desktop experiment. The first Arrandale MacBook Pros hit the market and I thought, why not give two cores and four threads a try. I gave it a try for less than a day before having to switch back to the Mac Pro.

The iMac is Apple's flagship desktop Mac. Since it was first introduced in 1998, this all-in-one computer has gone through eight significant redesigns, tak

With the current Apple iMac approaching its first birthday, does it still prove desirable against the latest slew of Windows all-in-ones?
Unparalleled design; High resolution screen; great peripherals
No HDMI; No Blu-ray; Limp gaming ecosystem

The current version of the Apple iMac packs in Intel's second-generation Sandy Bridge processor and is the fastest all-in-one desktop you can buy. It even beats some tower-based desktops in performance tests, and reviewers say it is the best...
Gorgeous high-resolution display, faster than any other all-in-one, good performance for gaming
Expensive, no Blu-ray drive, no HDMI port

We recommend Apple's new 27-inch iMac to digital media editors and others with serious performance needs on the strength of its impressive speed, its connected device potential and its market-leading 27-inch display.
The best performance, design and largest display among current all-in-ones ; Exciting potential from the Thunderbolt ports
No HDMI inputs ; Hardware options more expensive than Windows-based competition
A fast new Intel CPU and an AMD graphics chip provide Apple's new 27-inch iMac with competitive performance for its price, and the advent of Thunderbolt offers the iMac the potential for exciting peripheral devices later this year. Apple seems less...

The Apple iMac 27-inch (Thunderbolt) is the newest top-of-the-line iMac, and it adds second-generation Intel Core i processors (aka, Sandy Bridge) to Apple's class-leading all in one Mac desktops, along with Thunderbolt ports first seen on the new...

It's pricey, has a huge screen, and is as powerful as an Asgardian thunder god. If you need a graphics PC for your business, the new Apple iMac 27-inch (Thunderbolt) will rival the huge tower workstations currently available. For the rest of us who...
