The best all-in-one desktop just got better
Awesome design and build quality ; Very cool and quiet ; Plays games decently ; Convenience ; Great screen
Mediocre webcam ; Default colour settings not great ; Price
Finally, while the glass front means this isn't a true professional class screen, reflections aren't anything like as bad as you'd expect. This is largely down to changes introduced last year, namely an improved coating and tighter air gap, but the...

Apple's large-screen all-in-one desktop Mac gets some welcome late 2013 improvements
Haswell processors ; 802.11ac ; Beautiful slimline design ; Nvidia 7 Series graphics ; Good custom build options
No optical drive ; Limited upgrade options ; £50 or £100 more expensive than last year ; No Hyper Threading on standard processors ; Didn't get a Retina screen option

With the world seemingly so keen to go mobile, it's a pleasant acknowledgement that Apple still feels there is a place for a desktop computer within its range. That comes in the lovely form of the iMac, reviewed here in its latest Haswell-based 27-inch...
Fast, beautifully designed, graphics power, Fusion Drive is great, thin design and small footprint for a 27-in screen
Not really upgradable, screen could be higher res, can be fiddly to use slots around the back
The 27-inch iMac is available with a 3.2 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.6 GHz and Nvidia GeForce GTX 755M for a suggested retail price of £1,599. Our review unit would cost an impressive £2,229 thanks to its 3.5 GHz...

Thought 4K TVs were impressive? The new iMac one-ups them on resolution, and packs in a computer to boot. Here are our first impressions of it

Apple sells two versions of its 27-inch all-in-one desktop iMac, differentiated only by processor speed and graphics card. Here we speed test the late-2013 iMacs and look at which is best for you.
The 27-inch iMac is a beautiful all-in-one desktop Mac, starting at £1,449 and rising to a potential £2,199 for the Ultimate souped-up model. The screen is really something else and if you can afford it then go the extra mile above the...

The 21-inch version of the iMac has found its way into reception areas in many businesses as a kind of technological fashion statement. However, its 27-inch big brother is a different proposition altogether. The iMac's large, high-resolution display...
The 27-inch iMac is an undeniably stylish all-in-one system that provides strong performance and a high-quality display that is ideal for graphics and video applications. However, it’s disappointing to see the price of the Mac rising at a time when...

The latest iMac packs Haswell chips and GeForce graphics, but skimps on the RAM and storage.
Attractive design; Stunning display; Haswell update and improved graphics; Thunderbolt ports
Expensive; Limited serviceability; No optical drive; Fusion drive not standard
The iMac’s design is in a class of its own, performance is strong and display near faultless. But PC vendors are catching up and are starting to offer better value alternatives.

The iMac is a beautiful thing. It's a matter of personal opinion, but we feel it's the best looking thing that Apple makes. A refresh in 2012 saw the iMac get even thinner, with a clever trick of the eye design that makes the whole computer look as...
While the new iMac looks the same as last years, we don't have any issue with that. It's a gorgeous piece of kit and feels far more premium than virtually every other desktop computer.

The iMac remains our favorite all-in-one desktop, and returns this year with beefier graphics, faster WiFi and brisker disk speeds.
Stunning, low-glare display ; Improved graphics performance, disk speeds ; Attractive design ; Robust audio
No optical drive
We already loved the iMac for its attractive design, forceful audio and sharp, low-glare screen, so it's even easier to recommend it now that it's been upgraded with new processors, more powerful GPUs, faster 802.11ac WiFi and speedier PCIe SSDs....

Just when you thought it was safe to get comfortable with the look and language of 4K, Apple comes along and adds what the company is calling a 5K display in the premium 27-inch iMac all-in-one desktop.
The new 27-inch Apple iMac adds a stunning 5K display for not much more than last year's high-end model. The design, while not updated, remains the gold standard for all-in-one desktops.
Except for the new screen and a different GPU, the components are essentially unchanged from last year's version. The high starting price only gets you a mid-level Core i5 processor.
Apple skips 4K and goes directly to what the company calls a 5K display in this expensive, extravagant all-in-one iMac desktop that will appeal to photo and video professionals -- or anyone else looking for the best possible screen resolution.
