Update: Apple has refreshed its 27-inch iMac models with Intel's sixth-generation Skylake processors, upgraded AMD Radeon R9 M395 graphics and displays that boast a wider, multimedia-friendly DCI P3 colour gamut. In T3's tests, the Quad-Core Core i5...
Incredible display ; Design ; Build quality
Merely OK graphics ; Price ; Fusion Drive not standard
The iMac with 5K Retina display is a stunning computer that’s also practical thanks to its pixel-packed display. All of those pixels make a tangible difference to its usability, as not only can you fit more onto the screen, the increased quality makes...

With more colours, Apple's iMac now puts everything on display
Display ; Peformance ; Sound ; Accessories
Core i7 costs extra ; No height adjustability ; No Target Display Mode
Apple's best iMac gets even better thanks to a subtle, but noticable improvement in colour support, alongside Intel's latest Skylake processor.

Apple's best desktop yet is an expensive luxury - but it might just be worth it
Truly amazing screen ; Does high-end editing smoothly ; Still a very small footprint
Only 8GB of RAM standard ; Basic GPU may be limiting for some pros ; Price is quite high
The Retina iMac really is a sight to behold, and works beautifully. It'll cost you, but it looks like something special for the money.

Apple introduced the world to a 5K-resolution version of the 27-inch iMac last year and, well, it was an absolutely fantastic workhorse that not only looked the part, but performed it too.
Beautiful and slim design, stunning and improved display, plenty of power, new Magic Keyboard is lovely, upgradeable RAM port, lower price than predecessor
Ports on the rear difficult to access, extra RAM from Apple is pricey, 1TB Fusion Drive drop in SSD portion (no issue for 2TB), not all applications will render resolution optimised
The new Apple 5K iMac is an excellent all-in-one. It not only looks beautiful, but it performs impeccably too. It is the machine for professionals; those who need a computer that won't let them down when it comes to editing 4K video or crunching...

All your pixels are belong to us, and Apple
Incredibly sharp, smooth 27in screen ; Excellent heat management ; Stunning design
Speakers and webcam need improving ; Rear sockets aren’t the most convenient ; Pretty pricey
Still the most desirable all-in-one PC in the world. Some upgrades are due, but it’s a smash.

This model has since been superseded by the 2017 Apple iMac 27-inch, but could it still be worth picking up if you find it for a knock-down price? Find out in our full review.

Kaby Lake internals, a faster Fusion Drive and better graphics give the 5K iMac a much-needed boost
I’m going to keep this brief: the Apple 27-inch iMac with Retina 5K display is still fantastic. I love it. Even though it's even longer in the tooth than it was in 2015, I’d totally buy one if I had the money, and there isn’t anything – other, perhaps,...

We take a look at the three new 27in iMacs, all of which now have a 5K Retina display, along with better Skylake processors.
The idea of a 5K 27in iMac for less than £1,500 might sound attractive, but we’d advise that you think twice about that model, equipped as it is with a standard (slow) hard drive. Essentially the only difference between that model and the one above it...

The 5K iMac remains the best all-in-one on the market, and in 2015 it gets an even better display and -- even better -- a lower price.
Amazing screen with even better color detail ; Reduced price ; New accessories have built-in rechargeable batteries
Fusion Drive not available on base model
The 5K iMac remains the best all-in-one on the market, and in 2015 it gets an even better display and — even better — a lower price.

Using the 5K iMac spoils you. Your eyes are simply treated to so much added information and depth, that going back to anything non Retina feels like you suddenly need reading glasses. It isn't a good feeling.
While 5K caters to a somewhat niche market of prosumers and users who create digital video and images, its quite a feat that we have all of this technology available today at a price that's a few hundred dollars above what one would pay for just a 4K...
