Does Canon's first waterproof camera make a splash?
Waterproof to 10M ; Good picture definition ; Great Smart Auto mode
Sub-par zoom and shock-proofing ; Not cheap
A decent camera for underwater shooting, but there are better options around

The most striking feature about the Canon PowerShot D10 might well be the range of funky colour choices you get, from blue through to camouflage. Pitched directly to action fans, the D10 is battling it out alongside the likes of Olympus' Tough cameras....
Easy to control, good quality results, great environmental sealing
A little bigger than some rivals
As Canon's first foray into the world of pocket bomb-proof cameras, it's a compelling offering. It is a little more bloated than Olympus rivals, but it does give you something to grip onto when using it in more remote locations, such as diving or...

Canon has got a lot of things right with the ruggedised Canon PowerShot D10 digital camera. It is a great feat considering it is the company's first attempt at building cameras for adventurous users.
The design of the Canon PowerShot D10 is spot-on for a ruggedised camera. It feels good to use and, most importantly, it’s very easy to use. It takes clear photos but we’d have liked more contrast. Pick it up if you’re after a ruggedised camera for the...

Canon's first waterproof compact is a curvy, chunky 12.1MP snapper. But is it ready to make a big splash?
Rugged, resistant and a supplier of superior snaps, this is the king of tough cams

In addition, this time Canon has developed a new digital camera that will leave most people looking forward to catch a glimpse of it, let alone to get to use it. This is because the Canon Powershot D10 is a camera that has the most basic digital camera...
Moreover, with a battery that can shoot over a hundred shots without blinking for recharging, it is just the superb camera to carry on long filming expeditions, and it makes little noise. The only disadvantage with it is that the shutter is a bit...

Canonâs first waterproof snapper makes a splash The Powershot D10 is not the most stylish of digital cameras. In fact it looks ugly, with a distinctly snout-like lens. But the extra padding ...

This is quite a squat offering and it looks almost child like with large buttons and rather garish colouring, very unlike recent PowerShot offerings, there is however a rather good reason for the PowerShot D10 strange appearance.
The price does seem a little high to me but should you need to use a camera under water this does require extra unusual components and it will never be a huge seller, it does perform fine out of water so if you can live with the vivid colours and the...

Built with an unusual rounded design, the Canon D10 stands out from the start. The bright blue facade and tough build quality cover means it's perfectly suited to shooting underwater - and it can do this to a depth of 10metres.We really put the D10...
A versatile compact that comes into its own in underwater or tough conditions

The Canon Powershot D10 is waterproof and shockproof. That should stop it shrivelling up in the freezing Blighty oceans. Matt Grayson investigates.
Nice design; Good features; Fast start up time; Good strap fastening idea
Battery door is nigh on impossible to open
