65x zoom... but it's all lens and no trousers
Massive zoom range ; Decent handling ; Robust build
Slow lens ; No EVF proximity sensor ; Limited image quality
Also, the maximum aperture of the Canon SX60 HS is just f/3.5-6.5. It’s quite slow, and both the cheaper Panasonic and Fujifilm rivals are faster, with f/2.8 maximum apertures. We’ll get onto the focusing and image quality effects of this later. But in...

The perfect travelling companion
Market-leading 65x zoom range ; Full manual control and raw files ; Wi-Fi and NFC built in
As big as an entry-level D-SLR ; No eye sensor on the viewfinder ; Lacks touch-screen control
With a 65x optical zoom, raw format shooting, inbuilt Wi-Fi and NFC, this is a well equipped bridge camera with a lot to offer the enthusiast.

The superzoom market keeps on growing, quite literally, with the latest Canon PowerShot SX60 HS boasting a gigantic 65x optical zoom lens. That's far more heavyweight than any competitor on the market, so if it's zoom you want, it's zoom you get....
Good optical image stabilisation, vari-angle LCD, image quality at middle zoom is good for its category
Problems with focus and general handling at the full zoom extension, competition from higher-end superzooms
There's a lot to admire about the Canon PowerShot SX60 HS. It takes what has always been successful about this companies superzooms and pushes it up a notch.

A whopping 65x optical zoom and a fold-out rear screen make the Canon PowerShot SX60 HS an attractive option for those looking to buy a bridge camera. But do its image quality and range of features qualify this superzoom bridge camera for a Best Buy?...

Read our full review of the new Canon Powershot SX60 HS with a massive 65x optical zoom lens, and built in Wi-Fi!
Good colour ; Great 3 inch tilting screen ; 65x optical zoom lens ; 6.2fps continuous JPEG shooting ; 450 shots in Eco mode ; Wi-Fi / NFC connectivity ; Flash hot-shoe ; 0cm macro ; Manual controls and raw shooting ; Electronic level ; Quick focus
No built in automatic panoramic mode ; My colour / dynamic range options not available when shooting raw ; Price
The Canon Powershot SX60 HS lays claim to one of the largest optical zoom lenses in any ultra zoom bridge camera. With a 65x optical zoom lens, the camera offers an almost ridiculous level of optical zoom starting at an ultra-wide 21mm zooming to...

For birds, buildings or whatever's near or far -- very, very far -- the SX60 HS and its 65x zoom lens get it done.
The Canon PowerShot SX60 HS is an all-around excellent bridge camera with a competitive zoom range, features that make it easier to use and make use of the lens and solid photo and video quality for its class.
Like most cameras in this category, the SX60 can be slow to lock focus when fully zoomed in under certain conditions. Switching between the viewfinder and display is still frustrating and there's no proximity sensor to automatically trigger the change...
Canon's PowerShot SX60 HS is one of the top bridge cameras in its class thanks to improved design, useful features, excellent photos and video and -- of course -- its really wide and really long lens.

In September 2012, Canon launched the PowerShot SX50 HS , a bridge camera with a 50x, f3.4-6.5, 24-1,200mm zoom lens -- an unheard of zoom range at the time.

The Canon PowerShot SX60 HS has a lens that covers an extreme zoom range, and even though it's on the pricey side, it earns our Editors' Choice award.

The Canon Powershot SX60 HS is an impressive ultra-zoom camera, offering a huge 65x optical zoom range. Unlike many big zoom cameras, the SX60 performs pretty quickly and it creates images that are of a surprisingly good quality. There's plenty of nice...
65x zoom lens is unmatched on market currently ; A bit more wide angle capabilities (21 mm) than expected in large zoom camera lens ; LCD is sharp and is articulated ; EVF is also very sharp and easy to use ; Camera's performance speeds are better than...
Price is high ; Would expect a little better image quality in this price range ; ISO range is limited to 3200 ; Electronic viewfinder doesn't turn on automatically when you lift camera to your eye ; Extremely large and heavy camera body ; No touch...
