The world's first camera with a dedicated fat mode
Great value for money
Poor performance
HP's hoping to tick so many boxes with the R967 that it ends up trying to be all things to all people

The HP Photosmart R967 has a big LCD, an antishake mode, and panorama stitching, but its battery life is skimpy.
Easy-to-use menus and in-camera red-eye reduction are definite plus points for the 10Mp HP Photosmart R967, but that battery life is a real let-down.

Good image quality at the lowest compression.Good quality optics.Accurate metering.Full range of capture modes.3-inch monitor.Well-built.
Shutter lag.Sensitive to noise.Slow to operate.Battery needs recharging quickly. No directly useable AV out on camera.

The 10-megapixel Photosmart R967 ($400 as of 10/6/06, including camera dock) is very similar to its predecessor, the 8.2-megapixel R927. Like the R927, this point-and-shoot has a big, 3-inch LCD and a compact, sturdy metal body. For an extra $50, the...

Nearly identical to the R927, the R967 adds an antishake mode and slightly better battery life. A camera dock is included.

It's not a DSLR, but short of interchangeable lenses and a view finder, Craig Ellison thinks the HP Photosmart R967 has all of the features you could want in a digital camera.
