Kodak EasyShare P712

The Kodak EasyShare P712 produces great images and has impressive zoom range, but it's not without its issues.

Kodak EasyShare P712 digital camera

The new Kodak EasyShare P712 replaces its predecessor, the P850 and as such takes top slot in Kodak's "P" (for Pro) range. Like its predecessor, the new model comes packed with advanced features and plenty of control options for those who want to get...

Great manual control options, compact size, image stabilisation, good lens, RAW capture

Confusing array of controls mars handling, noisy images over ISO 200, EVF flaring

With more than respectable image quality at lower ISOs, and three custom settings (almost essential to take the pain out of the many buttons and controls), the P712 can reward you with some excellent results. It is undeniably a well-specified camera...

Kodak EasyShare P712 review

Can Kodak's latest bridge camera keep enthusiast happy?

Full exposure control

It's loud in use ; Poor ISO levels ; Slow to process images ; Visible noise in day shots

Size isn't everything. A huge 12x stabilised lens is a great addition to any camera at this price, but the Kodak needs similar boosts in speed, handling and raw image quality.

Kodak EasyShare P712 review

The 'P' in P712 stands for performance, and the camera certainly looks racy with its curvy body and rubber trim.

Kodak EasyShare P712

Very good image quality with JPEG Fine, excellent using the RAW format.Stabilized 12X zoom.Excellent metering.Excellent colour rendition.High-resolution electronic viewfinder.Full selection of shooting modes.Light and compact.

Chromatic aberration when the image contains strong contrasts.Lack of sharpness at the widest angle.Sensitive to noise as of 125 ISO and when the flash is used.

Kodak Easy Share P712

This looks and feels like a very substantial camera, the zoom is good at 12x optical and the image size is 7.1 mega pixel, This is one of two cameras in the Kodak Performance range

It is 10x12x8cm and weights around 450grams, there is a 5x3.8cm TFT display that dominates the rear of it. When the lens is fully out it increases the width of the unit by 3cm to 15cm. For those who prefer to take images using the viewfinder this...

Kodak's Easyshare P712 "performance" cam reviewed

Kodak's top-tier P712, announced in June, sure has some good specs for its price range, like a 12x zoom, 0.07 click-to-capture rate (which Kodak claims is th...

Kodak adds P712 to top of EasyShare line

Without as much worry for raw megapixels this time around, Kodak is bringing out their new EasyShare P712 7.1 megapixel camera with 12x zoom and high-speed capturing to tempt the semi-prosumer crowd. With a suggested retail price of $499, the shooter...

Kodak EasyShare P712 review

According to Kodak, its 7.1-megapixel EasyShare P712 was designed for "second- and third-time digital camera buyers." Appropriately, the camera includes a higher level of control than many of Kodak's cameras, such as manual white balance, full manual...

12X optical zoom; full manual controls; optical image stabilization.

Noisy at ISO 200 and above; ISO 800 only at 1.2 megapixels.

Kodak's EasyShare P712 offers a higher level of control than its Z-series brethren, but noise at higher ISOs persists.

Kodak EasyShare P712 Zoom

The KODAK EasyShare P712 features a 12X (36 - 432 mm equiv.), image-stabilized, f2.8 - f/3.7, SCHNEIDER-KREUZNACH VARIOGON optical zoom lens that delivers exquisite detail and sharpness. Its 7.1 megapixel sensor is paired with KODAK's Color Science...

Bottom line - Kodak's EasyShare P712 Zoom is a mixed bag. While it offers loads of appealing features, the outdoor mediocre image quality really turned us away from this model. However, it does capture nice portrait images and is a speedy performer....
