Budget-priced style from Kodak
Initial impressions are extremely favourable. The camera is sleek and stylish, with an aluminium body that is smoothly rounded with no protruding controls, and build quality is excellent. The lens retracts back into the body, and the whole package is...

Bigger is very nearly better, but not quite
Attractive price ; Decent CCD
Soft lens ; Over-zealous compression ; Snail-like shutter response

Kodak's latest V-series cameras have two new additions; identical apart from the V803 has an 8-megapixel sensor the other, the V1003 has a 10-megapixel sensor. Each is available in a range of natty colours and here I test the black 8-megapixel variant,...
Simple to use, image quality at low sensitivity, sharp lens
Handling: slow focusing; flash charging/pre-flash, shutter lag and noise issues at higher ISOs

Golden Dream, Mystic Purple, Cosmic Blue. A New Age revival? No, they're three of the eight colours available for Kodak's new pocket cam

If you need any evidence that the digital camera market is on fire, consider the Kodak V803.
An inexpensive 8Mp camera, with few sacrifices made elsewhere in the specification and ambitious ISO settings, the Kodak V803 is a worthy winner of a Recommended award.

Kodak's cheap and cheerful M5370 eschews physical buttons in favour of touchscreen controls, but images are a little soft

A decent point-and-shoot for the price
The V803 is a camera which can't be beaten on price-as an entry level model the quality of output is acceptable and the price unbelievable
