10x optical zoom, Full HD video recording and a 16MP sensor
10x optical zoom ; Slim ; Good macro mode
Poor panoramic mode ; Digital filters not great
Introduced in February alongside the Nikon Coolpix S9300, as part of a duo of slim superzoom compact cameras, the Nikon Coolpix S6300's headline feature is its 10x optical zoom lens.

Opt for a truly pocket-friendly point-and-shoot camera and you're often settling for a compromise: small size for zoom ability. But Nikon has successfully avoided this with the Coolpix S6300, which will slip into your jeans - even those of the...
Tiny and lightweight, good zoom range for an ultra-compact, decent selection of scene modes, 1080p HD video recording
Some noise issues even at low ISO, usability could be improved, no manual mode
The Nikon Coolpix S6300 is a solid, dependable ultra-compact with an impressive zoom range, but lacks one killer feature to make it stand out over rivals.

When the Nikon Coolpix S6300's predecessor, the S6200 , came out, it was one of the smallest, least expensive 10x zoom cameras available. It was a good camera for what it was, but not exceptional.
The Nikon Coolpix S6300 is a small, lightweight pocket camera with a ultrawide-angle 10x zoom lens that's easy to pick up and use and has a nice assortment of snapshot shooting options.
Though its overall shooting performance is good for its class, the autofocus is temperamental. Battery life is fairly short.
In the face of stiff competition, the Nikon Coolpix S6300 is an above average point-and-shoot made slightly better by a low price, simple operation, and nice features.

The S6300 isn't a bad way to get a 10x zoom lens in your pocket. However, its competition makes it a tougher sell.

For a low-cost camera, the Coolpix S6300 seems to perform pretty well overall. Its color accuracy and brightness in images are impressive. The 10x zoom lens is a nice feature, and its response times and various burst modes are pretty good. It does have...
Nice to have 10x optical zoom in thin camera ; Response times are pretty good when not using a flash ; Very easy to use camera ; Control buttons are a comfortable size to use ; Spin dial surrounding four-way button is handy ; Small flash works...
Camera response times are a little sluggish when you must use the flash ; Start-up time is a little slow, too ; Camera's focus is soft at times, making it difficult to create large prints ; Position of flash can lead to shadows from the lens housing in...
