Everything on the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS3 compact camera has been implemented to make the art of digital photography easier - including a Quick AF function that begins the camera focusing before the shutter release button is even half depressed.
If you’re buying a sub-£150 camera for image quality alone, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS3 would be the sensible choice.

Discover what this small, sleek camera has under the bonnet
This is a perfectly adequate camera for the amateur or occasional user. Enthusiasts will not take to the soft corners and noisy low-light pictures. It is, however, a very decent daylight shooter for the non-pros.

The Panasonic DMC FS3 is an 8 megapixel digital camera with a 3x optical zoom lens. The main attractions are its simplicity, picture quality and the fact it will slip more or less unnoticed into a pocket.
Ease of use - design and build quality - automatic features - overall picture quality - wide screen movies
There is nothing that stands out
"This is an impressive pocket camera. Easy to use, takes a good picture and fits into a pocket. It is well made and has an unfussy design. With a few extras such as image stabilisation it ticks all the right boxes."

Attractive price point, Auto Intelligent mode, impressive build quality
Buttons are too small for big fingers, underpowered optical zoom
The DMC-FS3 is capable of producing instant, good quality photos that will more than satisfy its intended user base of casual photographers. If you want to capture great looking shots with a minimum of effort, this compact camera will not disappoint.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS3 is an inexpensive point-and-shoot for casual shooters.
Proper flash exposure ; Flexibility in certain scene modes ; iA spot-on for most shooting situation during the day ; Quick start-up time
Slightly soft image ; Slow AF ; iA in low-light
We detected a slight hint of softness around the edges of our subjects, especially when taken in low-light situations. Although this might not show up on small prints, do take note that some image sharpening on the computer might be necessary if you...

The Lumix FS3 (8 megapixels) and Lumix FS5 (10 megapixels) are two small point-and-shoot cameras from Panasonic. Both cameras pack the latest Venus Engine 4 processor, optical image stabilization, 2.5 inch LCDs, good battery life and many scene modes....

Limited manual controls (certainly no manual exposure here) ; No red eye removal and movie editing features ; Face Detection needs a direct, clear view of faces to work nicely ; Flimsy battery compartment door ; Finer details (ie fabric lines) removed...
