Amy Davies reviews the new Panasonic Lumix LX15, with a bright f/1.4 zoom lens, 4K video, built-in Wi-Fi and manual controls.
There’s lots of competition in the one-inch premium compact camera market, and it’s quite hard to choose between those that are available.

I've had a soft spot for Panasonic's LX-series ever since the LX3 completely changed my understanding of what a pocketable compact was capable of. The LX5 and LX7 continued that tradition, but by that stage the RX100 had raised the image quality game...

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX15 (also known as the Panasonic LX10) is a premium compact camera which incorporates a large 20.1 megapixel 1-inch MOS sensor. The Panasonic LX15 features 4K video recording at 30/25/24fps including the ability to extract 8...
The new Lumix DMC-LX15 fits neatly into Panasonic's range of serious compact cameras, and importantly goes head-to-head with the all-conquering Sony RX100 series, offering the same sized 1-inch sensor with the key advantages of a faster f/1.4 lens,...

The Panasonic LX10 combines a fast 24-72mm equivalent built-in lens with a 20.1-megapixel 1-inch-type sensor to yield very good results for a premium compact camera. The image quality is comparable to its peers, but where the LX10 manages to set itself...
Very good image quality for its class; Compact, sleek camera body; Excellent touchscreen and user interface; Fast built-in lens; 4K UHD recording and 4K Photo
Continuous autofocus performance is spotty; Shallow RAW buffer depth; No built-in electronic viewfinder; No hot shoe; Slow start-up time

Panasonic's new compact cam blends in with the crowd—and not in a good way
Consumer review (very.co.uk)

Comfortable to Operate ; Great Picture Quality ; Versatile
Flimsy Construction
Consumer review (very.co.uk)
Safety needs improving. The dials are dangerously sharp. Why? Aesthetically, the plastic of the protruding lens is unfortunate.
Complicated To Operate ; Flimsy Construction ; Poor Battery Life
