A proper camera that runs Android and has built in 3G? Yes, it is quite nifty.
Superb touchscreen ; Seamless connectivity ; Large focal range ; Intuitive operation
Poor battery life ; Some image quality issues ; Would benefit from i-Function lens functionality
Befitting its positioning as a camera/smartphone hybrid device, the Galaxy Camera comes with a fittingly impressive LCD display. Measuring in at 4.8in, the screen offers a 1280 x 720 HD resolution, and further benefits from capacitive touchscreen...

Android apps on a 'proper' camera
Responsive touchscreen controls ; Social integration ; Advanced and auto modes ; Great apps ; Impressive images
A little big for some ; Can't use it as a phone ; No macro shortcut
While smartphones are great because they enable you to capture, edit and upload images to Twitter, Facebook and other social networks, they invariably have a piddlingly small sensor and a lens the size of a sequin. Despite technological advances, this...

The Samsung Galaxy Camera sports Android Jelly Bean and Wi-Fi connectivity
Vivid 4.8-inch display ; Wi-Fi connectivity and apps ; Lots of customisation options
Small and fiddly microSD ; Rather large and bulky ; OS built for phones ; not cams

The Samsung Galaxy Camera sounds like one of those "why has this not been done before?" ideas on paper. This connected camera runs Google's Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operation system at its core, which, in combination with the camera's 1.4GHz quad core...
As connected as cameras get, Android experience takes the operating system to a whole new level, excellent price when considering the SGS3, great for multimedia playback, in-camera video editor
It's big, expensive in compact terms, potentially long start-up time, no 4G, soft images when extending the zoom, mid-high ISO settings no good for critical work, mis-focusing can be a problem, would have liked one physical function button, can...
The Samsung Galaxy Camera delights yet confounds. In many respects it's a breath of fresh air that succeeds in camera connectivity to a degree way, way beyond anything else out there.

If you've been disappointed by every so-called cameraphone lens you've ever seen, this is the Frankengadget for you. It combines the camera tech of a 1/2.3in CMOS sensor and 21x zoom lens with the phone-style additions of a gorgeous 4.8in, 720p display...

Samsung said that the Galaxy Camera is designed to combine the best features of a smartphone and a digital camera, but it's missing one big thing: a phone. The Galaxy Camera combines a smartphone and digital camera with 3G, 4G and WiFi connectivity.
The Galaxy Camera will start shipping in October. However, its future will depend heavily on its price, which hasn't been announced. While there aren't any digital cameras that pack as many features, otherwise-comparable devices without the internet...

Certainly a crossover device, as Samsung makes smartphones and Samsung also make digital cameras. So in theory anyway a digital camera that looks like a smartphone with a quality lens added to it has a good chance of being a winner.
If you add a micro SIM then the Samsung Galaxy Camera can be your device for use everywhere. Using Wi-Fi without the micro SIM means you can do most things that a computer can anywhere where there is a signal. So is it a camera or a smart phone, you...
