A 30x optical zoom camera with an built-in viewfinder, but it compromises on image quality
30x optical zoom range ; Touchscreen control ; 4K video and photo modes ; Built-in EVF ; Raw shooting ; Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity
Low-resolution EVF ; Image smoothing at high ISOs ; Cramped controls
Sony's top-of-the-range travel camera misses out on a 1-inch sensor, but packs a highly versatile 30x optical zoom into a neat little body.

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX99 is a new compact camera in the HX-series, released alongside the DSC-HX95. Despite its compact design, this camera has an impressive zoom of 24-720mm and it's the smallest camera in the world to have one this size. The...

The Sony Cyber-shot HX99 offers a 30x optical zoom lens, a pop-up electronic viewfinder, and a 3inch tilting touch-screen in one of the most compact travel zoom cameras available, but is it any good?
The Sony Cyber-shot HX99 offers an update to the HX90, adding 4K video, and increasing the price. If you want one of the smallest travel zooms available, then the HX99 is definitely the most pocketable in this segment of the market, however, the price...

What We Love. For an affordable camera that will only set you back $450, Sony's latest compact release is certainly packed with features. The Sony HX99 has a 28x optical zoom that comes in plenty handy, Optical SteadyShot to help with camera shakes,...

The Sony Cyber-shot HX99 is one of the best travel-zoom cameras on the market, offering a compelling mix of great still and video image quality and an upgraded feature-set, in spite of a big jump in the asking price (in the UK at least ).

A few years back, Sony debuted two cameras which it said were the world's smallest to feature both a 30x zoom lens and a built-in viewfinder, the pocket-friendly HX90 and its near-identical sibling, the HX90V. Now, those all-rounder compacts have...

So far all aspects of camera are working fine. Only problem is when turning camera off there is a significant lag so unsure whether camera is shutting down or not.

Brilliant camera. Auto focus is good and loads of features. For its size it performs really well. Sharp images
